Sad but true, this is the way it works in the United States. Two men entered a convenience store, pointed their guns at the clerk, and robbed the store. As they exited the store, an armed citizen confronted them. The robbers pointed their guns at the honest citizen and he shot and killed both of them.
Now the family of one of the dead robbers wants justice. They want to sue the honest citizen. And leave it to the media to give the families of armed robbers a forum.
In what has become a cliché, the mother of an armed robber takes to the airwaves to say, He was a good boy. This family then has the nerve to say the robbers didnt deserve to be shot; that an honest citizen had no right to fire at two boys who pointed their guns at him. The family then goes on to say that while their boy was a known drug user, he likely only robbed the store so he could get money to pay his child support. It is a seven-minute video, but it should make your blood boil:

As Plato had perceived in the Republic, Aristotle also saw that a prerequisite to the transition from an oligarchy to a popular constitution is the arming of the people, who would overpower the oligarch's troops.
Furthermore, tyranny derives from the oligarchy's, "Mistrust of the people; hence they deprive them of arms, ill-treat the lower class, and keep them from residing in the capital. These are common to oligarchy and tyranny."
War, taxation and public works keep the people poor and preoccupied, perpetuating the power of the tyrant. "It is also in the interests of a tyrant to keep his subjects poor, so that they may not be able to afford the cost of protecting themselves by arms and be so occupied with their daily tasks that they have no time for rebellion."
"That Every Man Be Armed"
-Stephen P Halbrook
This is why that doesn't happen these days. The tyrant, Zero, forces many into being so busy just to make ends meet that we don't have the time or funding to do what you said we should do.
Just my honest opinion, though.

The lawsuit is not allowed under Pennsylvania law.Same for Florida. Depending on the county, you might get a parade though. Not in my county but they'd know enough to just shut up. I think.

The shooter did the robber’s kid a huge favor in ending baby daddy’s criminal career. Now the kid will receive SS survivor benefits until he’s 18, no more waiting on baby daddy to rob corner markets for support money.

I saw it on the local news here - Atlanta station - and with all the crime by BO voters that is detailed in the first 5 minutes of EVERY danged broadcast, I may have mistakenly assumed it was here in Ga.

Yes !!!!!
We need new laws on the books allowing these people spewing out this human debris to be sued for damages and jailed!!!!
Some of these animals cannot grasp the concept of civilization. If they cannot get it, they need to be locked in a cage.

He needs to sue the state for not taking better care of its dependents.....WE are responsible for our dependents, and if we house them we have to take some kind of responsibility for their actions.
I assume you realize that my line was cynical and sarcastic. Of course I agree with you.

Stand your ground laws are essentially tort reform to stop this absurd lawsuits.
The only reason these cases have any life in courts is because the judges HATE self help by citizens. If citizens protect themselves who needs judges?
