Damage to U.S. national security caused by NSA contractor Edward Snowden will take decades to repair, the White House official in charge of cyber security said Friday. Snowdens treachery is especially grave because he exposed how all the parts fit togetherthe blueprints for how Americas most significant intelligence enterprise actually workswhich is also the blueprint for how to defeat it, she said.
So what does this mean in real terms? It means that the president may not have the intelligence he needs to have for crucial decisions. Nor will the Congress. We may not see threats we should have seen, never mind opportunities. It means that there may be future attacks that we do not see coming, which otherwise might have been prevented, Van Cleav said in an email.

Obama’s damage will felt for decades.
uh huh. This is basically going to be their excuse for EVERY national security disaster from this day forward.
Every one.
Nothing is ever THEIR fault.
Economy? Bush’s fault.
Failure to contain Russia? Bush’s fault.
Terror attacks? Bush’s fault. Oh, and Snowden too.
Loss of 4th Amendment freedoms? Snowden’s fault. Bush approved it too.
Buildup of Russian allies in this hemisphere? Bush. Snowden.
Obamacare rollout? Web designer’s fault. Bush, too.
Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing is ever Obama’s fault.
Exactly.
I have always considered Gertz as a good source of information, but NSA is a joke, although a very very bad joke.
They did not foresee the Boston bombing.
They have no information that helps solve the flight 370 question, they had no idea Putin was going to make a move on Crimea.........on and on.
Flapper did not even know of the bus bombing in England until he was told about it during a congressional hearing on TV.
A very embarrassing spectacle on TV.
You cannot blame Snowden for obama's LACK OF INTELLIGENCE!
HERE HERE!
The Whitehouse Cyber Expert of course knows nothing of that!!
who asked him anyway?
So, let’s get this straight; the all mighty, massive, intrusive, super secret, trillion dollar, spy agency was taken down by someone that supposedly worked there for only mere days and was a low level employee?
Come again?
Nope they were far too busy looking for CLINGERS..to make any inroads in securing this nation from the mooselim menace.
The National WHAT? Agency!
It’ll be longer than that.
Sometimes, the jokes write themselves...
Just like Jimmah Carter and Persia.

ahaha I DO appear that these people are doing some of that there Freudian Slippin and Slidin....
” the president may not have the intelligence “
Seen as a treasonous statement by some...and a monumental understatement to the rest of us.
In my lexicon concerning odumbo it is a Fraudian slip.
I see the actual damage as being truth telling or as Fiendstenn (d-CA) says ... don’t check me ... that’s treason.
I well remember the chants of “Down..Down Down with the Shah” repeated endlessly in San Francisco’s Financial District oh those many years ago....
Jimmy was there with them in spirit...
Haha, DJ, thanks for pointing that joke out.
The NSA’s mission is the same as that of the IRS-destroy dissent inside of America. Remember Obama’s campaign promise to “get revenge” and “punish his enemies”?
I don't know what Snowden's intent was, but in this day and age, there's a twisted solace in knowing that someone exposed a blueprint for defeating "Americas most significant intelligence enterprise".
I am offended that I should even think this way.
I blame Snowden for treason.
