#26 – The Isley Brothers: “It’s Your Thing”

The team of Holland-Dozier-Holland had tamed the Isleys at Motown, and while their stay at Hitsville USA was lucrative, I suspect the guys had felt artistically weakened. After leaving Motown, they returned to their raw R&B roots. This is early funk.

Am now unemployed (happily) from my 6 mo. layoff extension to do temp work in Galveston.

It's good to be home for good and am taking a couple weeks to decompress from it all and will get serious about another job.

Maine is my target destination for August ta be sure!

#2 – Classics IV: “Traces”

Their early sound in 1966 was a lot like the Four Seasons, but by now they had brought in a new lead vocalist and changed their entire approach. This song’s lyrics are similar to the Forties classic, “These Foolish Things”.
