Conservative-leaning newspaper the Washington Times announced on Thursday that it will be launching a magazine specifically targeting black conservatives, FishbowlDC reports.
The new magazine, called the American CurrentSee, will bring together big names in the black conservative world, including former neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who will be publisher;

Wishing Ben Carson much success.
What a stupid idea. Will they also be creating magazines for left-handed conservatives, conservatives with dimples, tall conservatives, short conservatives, read-headed conservatives?
I really like Carson——and wish him well.

Washington Times seems to be blasting forward in many directions!!
New news channel OAN just launched on Verizon FIOS just MAYBE we will be able to compete with the propaganda of the MSM, although it is
probably going to take more time than what this beloved country has at this point!!

I particularly like the idea. It brings this segment of society out to front and center. It allows other Blacks to view this mindset as an acceptable alternative to the infested Jackson, Sharpton, and Farrakhan swamp.
Maybe to a white guy...: )
I think it's a great idea...
Ever been in the hood and look at their magazine rack in the stores...?
Believe me it isn't traditional magazines you find at any retail store...
If they can get distribution in major urban cities and black communities, they will reach people in a new and interesting way...
Many blacks are socially conservatives but fiscally liberal...
Generally I agree. We are either Conservative or we aren’t. And we should stand or fall as such.
That said, I do see logic here. But what it really comes down to is using another form of propaganda to attract blacks. Good or bad, it is still propaganda.
It’s outreach, baby. One step at a time. Think suasion. There are many black conservatives who just don’t know it yet. Buy them a subscription based on black and they stay for the conservative. Are you hep?
Thank you. You know what I see when I go to my hair dresser? Ebony, Jet, Essence and every other magazine geared to black people, sometimes with the same picture on the cover: Pres. Obama. Maybe the magazine will give retailers and other stores a choice in reading material. Of course, no publication can replace face-to-face interaction with people whose minds you wish to educate.
Totally agree.
Blacks should be seen and treated as individuals. The power of conservatism should be enough to sway them. If they don't recognize that they're being played for fools by the Left, that's their problem.
Ben Carson GOD will make you succeed in this.
Ditto.
I’ll bet there are a substantial number of blacks who live their lives as conservatives but are restricted by a severely restrictive culture, and would love to have a forum where they can explore political issues openly. Maybe this venture will be a significant step forward in unleashing the power of black conservatives and busting up the plantation.
Then someday - way down a long and difficult road - we can drop the “black.”
But for now, anything that encourages communication among us has got to be a good thing, and I support it wholeheartedly.
My response was not because I didn't understand the reasoning behind it (or your explanation). I called it stupid because it is. Racial strife in this country won't end until we end widespread government and corporate racial discrimination and everywhere else that where it has no place, and frankly outside of a medical settings, it has no place anywhere. Racial discrimination certainly has no place in any aspect of conservative politics.
Good.
Blacks are curious and really want to know what conservatism is, but they are scared of being demonized for it.
Let other black conservatives introduce them. Give them enough blacks telling them what’s wrong with the rap world, etc. and it might become a movement.
So let black conservatives spread the gospel to black liberals then.
Or Republicna/Conservative leaders simply tell the truth about the destruction that liberal policies have done for blacks.

This should be interesting.
