Mississippi news station WLOX-TV anchor Dave Elliott on Thursday said that there has been too much coverage of LGBT issues in the news recently, according to Romanesko.
"I'm all for the LGBT community's ongoing fight for equality. I support their fight in every way. But, it seems they've been in the news too much lately. Maybe they should take a short break. Go on gaycation,.. [sic] just for the weekend. Enjoy yourselves!" Elliott wrote on his Facebook page, according to a screenshot published by Romanesko.
WLOX-TV condemned Elliott's comments on the station's Facebook page.
"We are not happy at all with the post or any imagined "free publicity." Dave made this post initially on his personal Facebook page," the station wrote.
"[O]ur station is committed to covering news that happens in our community, and issues important to our viewers - that includes the LGBT community," the station said in an additional comment on its Facebook page.
it’s called a propaganda drive.
the constant stream of bs is part of desensitization
the point is to make you think it’s ‘normal’
Sorry, but giving up on your right to object what they do in private is the reason why you have no standing now to object to what they do in public.
I am tired of hearing community this, community that, black community, gay community, & all of the other communities. I thought progressives wanted one big happy community under a big one world tent. All they do is split us up into separate communities. We here at FR know what they really want & it ain’t good for our country.
I attend a tech conference every year. It’s held in various locations. A few years ago it was in SF. I used to go to SF and the Bay Area frequently but I hadn’t been in SF in a long time. It seemed like every time I went out I was approached by someone wanting me to sign some sort of pro homosexual petition. Told one guy to put his pen back in his pants.
How come you never hear the term “Conservative Community”?
Gaycation. Love it! LOL
"For years, Id check for local news even before checking FR. Now, I no longer even look at philly.com - I just couldnt take all the gay stories. Every.single.day there was some gay story right there on the front page."
Yep. I swear, I wanted to see some sports news on a MSM news feed a few weeks ago... and nine out of ten stories they had were about Sam the gay football player. It's ridiculous.
Because they demand you applaud and worship their destructive lifestyle and exhibitionistic behavior. They can’t keep it in the bedroom, they’ve got to constantly parade themselves in every possible way. Political correctness and pressure removed their behavior as mentally ill from the medical books, but there is simply no other way to explain people whose needs, wants and desires run as they do with them.
WLOX covers the coastal area of MS, AL and these areas are pretty conservative in their politics. The station owners better tread lightly (as it were)on their apology over kill. Folks are sick of the gay agenda being shoved down their throats (as it were)
Probably because we are like herding cats. We all pick on each other and beat each other up a lot.
It would have been better if he used the correct word, homosexual, instead of “gay”.
I watch Walking Dead and was thinking, wow, there has been no recognition of homosexuals on this show. Then, sure enough, the last episode included a girl who talked about her homosexuality... during the APOCALYPSE.
Yeah, talking about homosexuality would trump survival in the apocalypse.
"I am tired of hearing community this, community that, black community, gay community, & all of the other communities."
That's all the left has- identity politics. Their policies have failed every time they have been tried, and so they need to distract people on emotionally-charged issues.
haha. Love it go on a gaycation! hearer here! or hear! hear! I be there are a lot of gay people that feel the same way.
I have conditioned myself to substitute the word ‘commune’ every time one of these pillow-biters uses the word ‘community.’
Makes it much more succinct and accurate.
I think the backlash has been here, but as you mentioned not visible to the public as of yet. It’s coming however. Another reason I think some gay people wish these people would shut up and get back to the real world of day to day privacy and boundaries.
You may have seen it yesterday but this author agrees with you.

Pertinent quote: “As a domestic radical, divisiveness is his natural weapon. Obama plays on fragmented identities, assembling coalitions to wage war against some phantom white heteronormative patriarchy consisting of a middle class barely able to pay its bills.
Its governing by terrorism. The bombs are ideological. The objective is a constant state of war.
The war that never ends has been good to Obama. Its various clashes have given him two terms and very little media scrutiny. They have given him a post-American army of identity groups with few mutual interests except radical politics and government dependency.”
"I commented on my facebook page a few weeks ago that NPR seems to think that its listeners are waiting every day with baited breath for the lates homosexual news. For several days in a row one of their morning edition stories was homosexual related."
And to think that ten years ago most NPR listeners were oh-so-concerned with the "rights" of Islamic Gitmo detainees when it came to bashing Bush... conveniently forgetting the fact that the terrorists they were defending not only "hated gays", but would kill people they found out were gay...
The problem is that he supports the sodomite agenda....just tired of hearing them gripe.
Ping.
Ever since the Psychiatric associations (under political pressure) redefined sexual perversion as normal, they have been handing us a dog s#!t sandwich and telling us it is ham on rye, and we better accept it. If we don’t they will jam it down our throats. We know what it is and we won’t accept it.
