We have encountered many physicians and friends who dont recall or recognize just how many interesting coincidences had to fall into place for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to pass both houses of Congress and gain President Obamas signature (March 23, 2010). This post serves as an informational overview a reminder as to how it all happened and is not meant in any way to be a judgment on the process however convoluted or on the final product.

ObamaCare is a terrible law in all respects. It will not provide insurance to most people who lack insurance. It tramples individual freedom, including the right to freely exercise our religion. It contains terrible requirements that cost money but fail to improve health. It will dramatically increase national spending on medicine while making outcomes far worse. The law lacks even the legitimacy of having been passed properly or complying with the Constitution. We have a moral duty to do everything in our power to make this law fail.
Your post was far more concise but said the same thing: “Tyranny.”
Democrat controlled house, democrat controlled senate, low information voters, complicit media, fawning college students/young first time voters, free phones, free health care, free money, extended unemployment benefits, low information voters, no one read the bill. What did I miss?

Don’t forget, The People voted in Scott Brown specifically to prevent Obamacare from getting through the Senate,
so the ‘rats pulled a hat trick and didn’t send it back to the Senate.
Lies, deceit, blackmail and outright vote buying. Democratic Party stock in trade.

“Arlen Specter changed parties, giving Senate Democrats that coveted 60th vote.”
============================================
As far back as 2008, at the presidential debate in Nashville, Democrat candidate Obama advanced his signature healthcare plan---ultimately enacted, by an historic straight Democrat party-line vote, into the "Affordable Care Act"
QUOTING 2008 OBAMA: "No. 1, let me just repeat, if youve got a health care plan that you like, you can keep it. All Im going to do is help you to lower the premiums on it. Youll still have choice of doctor.
Repeated over and over again---with Obama's promise that every American family would be saving $2500.00 on healthcare costs.
Significantly, Obamba NEVER corrected lock-stepping Democrats, all reading from the same Democrat talking points, all of them repeating the same Democrat promises---over and over again.
===================================================
LOCK-STEPPING PARTY LOYALTY NOT SEEN SINCE 1930-40's ERA EUROPE Obama And the Dems marched in lockstep.....the persistent Dumbocrat drumbeat ---- in obeisance to Obama ---- kept ringing reassuringly in our ears: "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan."
SEN. HARRY REID (D-Nev.): In fact, one of our core principles is that if you like the health care you have, you can keep it. (Sen. Reid, Congressional Record, S.8642, 8/3/09)
SEN. RICHARD DURBIN: We believe and we stand by this if you like your current health insurance plan, you will be able to keep it, plain and simple, straightforward. (Sen. Durbin, Congressional Record, S.6401, 6/10/09)

SEN. MAX BAUCUS (D-Mont.): That is why one of the central promises of health care reform has been and is: If you like what you have, you can keep it. That is critically important. If a person has a plan, and he or she likes it, he or she can keep it. (Sen. Baucus, Congressional Record, S.7676, 9/29/10)
SEN. TOM HARKIN (D-Iowa): One of the things we put in the health care bill when we designed it was the protection for consumers to keep the plan they have if they like it; thus, the term grandfathered plans. SEN. MICHAEL BENNET (D-Colo.): We should begin with a basic principle: if you have coverage and you like it, you can keep it. If you have your doctor, and you like him or her, you should be able to keep them as well. We will not take that choice away from you. (Sen. Bennet, Press Release, 6/11/09)
SEN. BARBARA BOXER (D-Calif.): So we Democrats want people to be able to keep the health care they have. And the answer to that is choice of plans. And in the exchange, were going to have lots of different plans, and people will be able to keep the health care coverage they need and they want. (Sen. Boxer, Press Release, 2/8/11)
SEN. SHERROD BROWN (D-Ohio): Our Democrat bill says if you have health insurance and you like it, you can keep it (Sen. Brown, Congressional Record, S.12612, 12/7/09)
SEN. BEN CARDIN (D-Md.): For the people of Maryland, this bill will provide a rational way in which they can maintain their existing coverage (Sen. Cardin, Congressional Record, S.13798, 12/23/09)
SEN. BOB CASEY (D-Pa.): I also believe this Democrat legislation and the bill we are going to send to President Obama this fall will also have secure choices. If you like what you have, you like the plan you have, you can keep it. It is not going to change. (Sen. Casey, Congressional Record, S.8070, 7/24/09)
SEN. KAY HAGAN (D-N.C.): People who have insurance theyre happy with can keep it We need to support the private insurance industry so that people who have insurance theyre happy with can keep it while also providing a backstop option for people without access to affordable coverage. (Health Care Plan Would Help N.J., Menendez Says, The Record, 6/19/09)
SEN. JEFF MERKLEY (D-Oreg.): [E]nsuring that those who like their insurance get to keep it The HELP Committee bill sets forward a historic Democrat plan that will, for the first time in American history, give every American access to affordable health coverage, reduce costs, and increase choice, while ensuring that those who like their insurance get to keep it. (Sen. Merkley, Press Release, 7/15/09)

As I said, you may have missed my remarks at the beginning of the call, but one of the things I that I said as a requirement that I have for supporting a Democrat bill is that if you have health coverage that you like you should be able to keep that. under every scenario that Ive seen, if you have health coverage that you like, you get to keep it. (Sen. Shaheen, Health Care Questions From Across New Hampshire, Accessed / 11/13/13)
SEN. DEBBIE STABENOW (D-Mich.): As someone who has a large number of large employers in my state, one of the things I appreciate about the Democrat chairmans remark is is the grandfathering provisions, the fact that the people in my state, 60 percent of whom have insurance, are going to be able to keep it. And Mr. Chairman, I appreciate that. Thats a strong commitment. Its clear in the bill I appreciate the strong commitment on your part and the president to make sure that if you have your insurance you can keep it. Thats the bottom line for me. (U.S. Senate, Finance Committee, Bill Mark-Up, 9/24/09)

Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) the 60th vote on Obamacare: "people who are happy with their current plan, wouldn't need to change it."
FRANKEN YOUTUBE SOUND BITE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCZmAYYNz8Ihttp://www.youtube.com/watch?
Staged implementation over several years to get past the next couple of elections before the real pain is felt.
Nancy Pelosi is the prime suspect here, along with the media who covered for her withholding facts (including ACTUAL CBO cost estimates) and felony bribery, blackmail, extortion and other corruption in getting Obamacare passed.
Nancy Pelosi commited fraud when she certified Barry's eligibility for President, then committed more fraud, concealment of facts, bribery, extortion, blackmail, lies, etc., in the passage of Obamacare.
If you like your mortician, you can keep your mortician ..period!
FORBES REPORTED Landrieus support for Obamacare was clinched w/ a greenback bribe. Landrieu, critics believe, pledged her aye vote in exchange for some $200 million MORE federal funds for Louisiana than was being allotted.
Except that, due to a (ahem) "drafting error," the law ended up giving Louisiana not $200 million more---but $4.3 billion----more than twenty times the assigned amount. READ MORE HERE http://www.forbes.com/fdc/welcome_mjx.shtml
==============================================
How $4.3 billion to Landrieu was attached to the Obamacare bill, and how Obama and Reid failed to catch and fix it, (or, more likely, facilitated the scam) is yet annother indictment of the Obamacare atrocity. The payoff to Landrieu should be investigated as an indication of how EVERY Democrat came to vote for Obamacare. Meaning that the $4.3 billion was intended to be money laundered and handed out to pay for Dummycrat aye votes.
=================================================
BACKSTORY In the fall of 2009, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was trying to get the necessary 60 Dimocrat votes to pass the Affordable Care Act. He needed every Dim on board, which gave waffling senators a great deal of leverage.
In Landrieu's case, she connivingly saw that selling her aye vote could get her maybe $200 million federal dollars. Obama complied--- Reid chalked up another vote for Obamacare---and $4.3 Landrieu giveaway was attached to the Obamacare bill.
=============================================
The money-laundering theory has plausibility---unless Reid/Landrieu can prove without a shadow of a doubt where the $4.3 billion is.
It happened behind closed doors and this is what you get when you have nothing but democrats running the show. SHAME on anyone who voted for ANY of them. This isn’t the fault of Obama and his minions, it is the fault of your STUPID next door neighbor that voted for this BS....and TWICE!’ Start by taking your anger out on your friendly LIBERAL next door neighbor. The BIG problem is probably next door to you.
I still remember that patronizing comment he made right after signing it. Something along the lines of “the world didn’t end after all.”
Well, it has to take effect before we all realize how bad it is, jug ears*. That takes time.
*this is directed at the alleged President, not Oldeconomybuyer.
Is Specter still alive to see what his vote has wrought?
‘Cause Congress passed it?
Several Senate seats were selected (not elected) to give the Rats their majority and it still took buying off several Dems to get this turkey passed.
What was it in didn’t even matter since Obama has changed it several times since without going to Congress to do so.
By that standard, anything you sign in your coverage agreement could be subject to change by decree as well.
Just wow!
How are Americans tolerating this evil?
This article does not mention the arm twisting like the Louisiana purchase ect. that was needed to pass it.
Not to mention the Stupak lie on abortion and the Franken stolen election which were also required.
