Why is she so stingy?? Does she hate hard-working poor people?? Any decent human knows that the minimum wage should be at least $50/hr!

I remember when I was young and worked for minimum wage. It was tough earning so little. So I did the unthinkable. I worked hard, learned some skills and took increasingly tougher jobs and earned more. I became more valuable to my bosses, and asked for raises, which they gladly granted to me.

Gosh, now many decades later I learn I went about it the wrong way. I could have sat on my ass and waited for government to force employers to give me more. /s

I just had this argument with a liberal. I told him that there shouldn't be a minimum wage. He replied that we needed one because without it, employers could take advantage of us. I pointed out that he already made three times the minimum wage and asked if he really thought that his wages would fall below the current minimum wage if it was done away with.

At that point, he said that he didn't want to talk about it any more. At which point I asked him if he believed in freedom. He said he did. So I asked him if I should be allowed to purchase any cell phone I wanted. Whether I wanted to pay $600 for the latest state-of-the-art model, or whether I wanted to buy a cheap $10 go phone, it should be my choice. I mean it's my money. I get what I pay for. I should be able to spend it as I please, right? He agreed. So I asked him, if it was OK for cell phones, then why was it not OK for labor? I mean if I need someone to work for me to provide some sort of service, I should be my choice whether I pay that person $600/hr or whether I pay them $10/hr. Right?

Come to find out, he didn't really believe in freedom after all.

Pfft! Why ask for a minimum wage? The Progressives should be demanding a Basic Income Guarantee (B.I.G.)*! No one earns under or over $50,000. If you earn more, you have to give it over to the Government for the common good, of course.

* On Switzerland Generation Basic Income Referendum —“If unemployment goes up, that’s a great thing,” says Daniel Straub, the coordinator of the referendum effort and author of The Liberation of Switzerland. “Because we should see unemployment as freeing people up to pursue what creates meaning for them.” Adds Enno Schmidt, a painter and documentary film producer who’s campaigned for the idea since 2006: “It’s not societally very efficient if people are forced to do something that they don’t really want to do.”

Piker! The minimum wage should be at least $500. an hour, how is a fifty foot yacht not a basic human right? People should not have to drive a Ford Fusion, they should have at least two Lexus, a four wheel drive diesel superduty pickup and a motor home. Every burger flipper should have at minimum a five thousand square foot McMansion.

If this post needs a sarcasm tag a pig needs a Sunday school book.
