A police officer shot dead a beloved family dog and then called the killing 'awesome', the animal's family has claimed. Sarah Brown, from Ardmore, Oklahoma, said she is devastated after her beloved pit bull Cali was gunned down by officer Brice Woolley after it hopped over their garden fence last Wednesday. Other members of the community are now joining her as she calls for justice and demands the officer to be fired. Officers with the Ardmore Police Department said they had received several complaints about the dog acting aggressively and headed to the scene, arriving before animal control...[snip]...Brown, who did not witness the incident, added to KFOR: 'He turned back to the animal control officer and said, "Did you see the way her collar flew into the air when I blew her head off? That was awesome".' Woolley informed the animal control that he had shot the dog, adding: 'We'll just write in the report that she tried to attack you and others in the neighborhood', according to witnesses.

The pup in question, post-police treatment.
Are there cases where shooting a dog is justified, yes. Based on tne gloating, I would say this is definitely not one of them.
That one was SOOO fun..! 'woof, woof!' BLAMO..!
Wish it had been a FREEPER pup, LOLZ...!!
I heard Ms. Brown on radio in Oklahoma City yesterday. There was no prior incident for the dog. The officer, was previously terminated from Tishomingo Police Department after he killed a dog with his service weapon. Tish settled a lawsuit before his termination. Cali was killed with a shotgun.
The daughter (pictured at the link) was with her dad in Arkansas at the time of the shooting for Spring Break. Can you imagine telling your daughter that Cali was not with them anymore?
It takes a sick person to react the way the officer did. He needs psych evaluation about his glee after the shooting. Fortunately there are witnesses.
I’m mad too, Eddie.
Gwjack
He kinda looks like a homo to me.
Sorta.
I think Officer Awesome’s photo speaks volumes about him. Captain Shifty’s as well.
I can’t wait for the day when the owners of these pets begin to shoot back.
Sure, there may be a couple of good cops left, but for the most part they are dangerous and out of control.
I think this trigger happy sumbitch with a badge would rather be shooting people, but will settle for Fido.
guess its time to open carry when I take my Labbies out!!! “Um officer, I think you ought to put that weapon down” as the red dot blinks on his forehead
Good thing the daughter was not there with a Nintendo or it would have been her, too! The quote might have been, “Did you see the way the Nintendo controller flew into the air when I blew her head off? That was awesome!”, said Officer Brice Woolley, known around the squad room as Judge ‘Dirty Harry’ Dredd.
Woolley should be an unarmed meter maid, rather than a ‘man’ who is supposed to uphold the law. What the heck are they teaching ‘peace officers’ these days?
And his Captain backed him up. What do you expect, departments have been looking the other way while officers abuse their wives and family for years.
Looks like he used a slug. Small consolation but I doubt that the dog suffered. The cop certainly ought to.
Saw where it said he used a shot gun. Figures, LEO’s are some of the worse shots at the handgun range.
That means, as in Connecticut, the JBTs are going to be the first ones to take it in the face...
This Cop needs to learn to shut his damn mouth.Even if he had a legitimate reason to shoot and kill that dog he should have had the tact and understanding to realize how traumatized the family that adopted that dog felt.
I hate to say this but I’d hope to see that clown suffer the same kind of situation in his life.I’d like to see if he’s laughing then.
What a macho clown.
As the police state advances over the top of constitutional rights in this country, they'll start aiming for children.
