How many articles from the CompPost do you ever see mentioning we need a “more mainstream Democrat”? The rats can nominate the most wildly extreme leftest but the CompPost never says anything about that. They are only concerned about moderate Republicans.

Does 'main stream' equal Rino? I think so.

They have to keep in mind that the Dems may NOT let Hillary have the nomination, as they did not in 2008. If the Dems field a youthful, charismatic nominee again, he/she would have a field day against a GOP old hack politician.

One website recently had a poll with some 23 GOP names on it. Most of those wouldn’t get 10% of the primary vote, much less win a national election.

We have already seen hints from several of the 2008/2012 GOP retreads that they are considering another run.

Adelson is a seriously bad person. He is a self described liberal who stated that he only became a Republican because he wanted to pay less money to his employees. He openly admits that his first loyalty is to a country other than America. He is fanatically obsessed with promoting amnesty, open borders and trying to drive down wages for American workers.

Adelson’s money is one of the main reasons why the GOPe is pro-amnesty and liberal leaning in general.

The GOP will not be healed until it expels Adelson and people like him and refuses to take their money.

Yes, and apparently the Koch brothers also support amnesty. So sad.

How much more “mainstream” could you get than McCain or Romney, Sheldon?

We need a full fledged conservative....one that can convince the Republican base to show up.

CRUZ

He’s VERY “Main Stream”, if you care to look at his views, and NOT the coloring by RINO’s, like Mitch.

"Adelson is a seriously bad person." Wow! Have you met him and spent time with him and his staff? I have.

Do you know that you can walk into the Venetian and the employees love him? Do you know that he takes a personal interest in helping them without fanfare, with their health issues and their children's education?

Do you know he is a self-made man? Do you have any idea of the local and national charities he has helped refusing even token acknowledgment? Do you know that before he owned casinos, he is most responsible for putting on the International Consumer Electronics Show, showcasing virtually every introduction of Silicon Valley consumer electronics in the last 25 years and that you suggest he's not pro-American?

I think he is free to back whomever he wants. Just like you. He picked Gingrich and when Newt could not get traction, he supported the GOP nominee. Many stayed home, enough to cost us the 2012 election. Did you stay home too because Mitt was not your guy?

I'm with you. Let's at least get a republican in the White House this time. Haven't we seen enough of what 8 years of Democrat rule can do?

I'd like Walker to run, but worry he won't be able to withstand the media when they turn on him, like they do others. He doesn't have a college degree, which'll drive the elite nuts. But what he's done for us in Wisconsin is just short of a miracle. Ended union rule over certain parts of government, replenished rainy day reserves and created a $1 billion surplus, which he is giving back to the taxpayers because it's our money. If Adelson wants to back Scott Walker, I'm in.

Shelly you said you would spend whatever you had to in order to beat Obama in 2012. What happened?

Anyone who aggressively demands amnesty and shows such disloyalty to the country that allowed him to be successful is bad. This is not a game. If this amnesty legislation passes — which will also TRIPLE legal immigration — you can stick a fork in the idea of any conservative government running America again in this century.

Of course his employees will tell people they love him. How naive are you or think we are?

See that you are new. Welcome! Note that ad hominem comments usually are ineffective if not boring. As to Sheldon, he does support amnesty, which Mitt did not, although Rand Paul, Cruz, Rubio et al do as well from what they say. Sheldon seems to be a proud American; do you have evidence otherwise (other than supporting Israel which most Christians do)?

When was the land of the free, home of the brave, and America founded on a principle of billionaires holding court in their palace to pick our Presidential candidates? I gotta be honest here, I resent this big time.

Another source of irritation is being older, retired and somewhat on a “fixed income” while being forced to subsidize billions in foreign aid to Israel and other countries. These same billionaires could fund it with their pocket change according to their own bravado. How many of them were vets who served and sacrificed for the USA?

http://www.politico.com/story/2014/03/sheldon-adelson-las-vegas-2016-elections-republicans-105192.html?ml=po_r

“He donates huge sums to Israeli causes and has ramped up his domestic political giving in recent years, culminating in an unprecedented $100 million spending spree in 2012. Despite his paltry success rate, he has said he intends to spend even more in future campaigns.

At a closed-press Saturday night gala, Adelson quipped that he couldn’t oblige a request from the RJC for a $50 million contribution because the group’s executive director, Matt Brooks, didn’t have change for $1 billion.

“His priority is Israel. So, if you look at his vetting process, I haven’t sat in any of the meetings, but I assure you that the first question is ‘tell me where you are on the safety and security of the state of Israel,’” said GOP bundler Fred Zeidman, a Houston private equity investor who is friendly with Adelson.”

The mega elites want your guns, they want your rights, they want to pick a POTUS, and they want open borders.

It has nothing to do with so called “conservative” principles or political Parties. They want to play you as a sucker, a fool and a violin. If you think not you are a clueless looney.

Jeb Bush,
Chris Christie,
Scott WalkerWhat? Really insulting, when Bob Dole, John McCain, and Mitt Romney are still alive? (him I never was sure about)

I don't want to be negative, though. Any one of these 4 could spend $1.5 Billion on an idiotic Rove-Campaign and lose just as handily.
