CNN BREAKING: Malaysian Prime Minister holding unexpected 10a ET news conference #MH370
Malaysian Defense Min says Malaysian Prime Minister Razak will hold a presser on what he called new developments at 10aET #MH370
Missing plane family members tell CNN they have been called to a 9:30a meeting, before the 10a ET news conference #MH370. Something is up.
It seems like some of these searchers could fly fairly low and at least snap some GOOD QUALITY pictures of the debris...I guess time will tell.
Based on new analysis plane flew south into Indian Ocean west of Perth
Thanks for the info...
One step at a time. Locate the equipment, then search for a cause.
No, they didn’t go into how the analysis was done.
But, I wouldn’t expect that in an initial press conference - in which the Malaysian government wanted to directly notify the families and public - BEFORE - it inevitably leaked out to the press.
How long is it going to take for HMAS Success to get near enough to find them?
TOAD ? Locator is being sent from US to locate the ping from wreckage
[Probably, since they now have a tentative location, they can increase satellite and air searching.]
Yea it stinks that suddenly there’s a new twist and turn, but it will keep the MSM (Fox included) off the topic of Russia, Inflation & Gas/Food Prices, Obamacare & Health Exchanges, the Raping of America and everything else newsworthy going on......at least until the end of the month.
Nah, the whole thing was secretive from the get go, how the hell we can pinpoint someone walking down a street, yet a massive airliner vanishes and not one of them can tell where its going or what its doing........they are not telling us the truth at all.
This sounds an awful lot like the authorities have simply declared that the flight ended in the South Indian ocean based upon data that has not been publicly released. No confirmation from found wreckage. They are going to need something more concrete to end the speculation.
I had read that airline insurance assumes that after 48 hours missing the plane is GONE. So they pay in to a trust of sorts, 110M in this case. Apparently that is SOP. They will also pay families for expenses while they wait for the genuises to figger it out.

The announcement by the Malaysian PM appears to have been based solely on tracking data supplied by Inmarsat and not on sightings of debris in the ocean.

That's my read as well --
And this official statement from the PM that the plane is officially declared to have crashed with no survivors possible was necessary in order for the insurance litigation and payouts to begin in earnest.
“No, they didnt go into how the analysis was done.”
Loose translation from news conference: Nothing to see here, folks. Your loved ones are dead. (Now go home so our airport doesn’t have a crowd of grieving families in the lobby. It’s bad for business.)
Well, this presents the best possibility of finding the black boxes now.
It was done in order to get the anti-smoking lobby in on the search.
That’s a cynical viewpoint (which is unfortunately quite common on Free Republic) for some factual data that was just announced to the public and to the families.
I remember seeing family members of what I believe was a Korean airliner, at the site of a crash in the water.
It’s not for them to see the debris, the families said prayers and dropped flowers and mementos in the ocean. Of course, there was a lot of crying. It was more like a funeral service.
