First Lady Michelle Obama is wrapping up her tour of China today and even though the American press was shut out from her trip, the First Lady has received glowing coverage of her taxpayer-funded visit.
Despite the already over-the-top praise, NBCs Today had a unique take on the trip. Appearing on Sunday, March 23, CNBCs Eunice Yoon commented that both Mrs. Obama and the wife of the communist president of China were a hip fashion icon from a small town who happens to be married to a very powerful man whos running a country.
The segment itself was fairly brief, but the CNBC correspondent hyped how With her daughters and mother in tow, Mrs. Obamas winning over Chinese. Visiting tourist sites, school, trying her hand at traditional calligraphy and creating the most buzz, her first meeting with China's First Lady.
After comparing Mrs. Obama to the communist first lady, Ms. Yoon tried to claim that the China trip was not a political mission before promoting how Mrs. Obama addressed the importance of freedom of speech for the Internet as well as for religion.
As NewsBusters has documented, none of the networks have mentioned the fact that the White House prevented American journalists from traveling with the First Lady to China, even though Mrs. Obama spoke about the importance of government not censuring information during her trip.

Joan Rivers once said, “We used to have Jackie O., now we have Blackie O”. Leave it to Joan Rivers not to mince words.
According to the US `Fleet street’/4th estate,’ we only have an Imperial/monarchial presidency when a non-Democrat is in residency in the WH.
NBC is calling First Lady high-water slacks/boob belt/panty lines/garish color combos a `Hip Fashion Icon.’
Banned from the trip, the alphabet news agencies still drag themselves forward on their bellies, ears down, whimpering and tails between their legs to lick her $500 sneakers.
Btw, back in 1776 the king still had power, even if he was loony tunes/otherwise, your point is well taken; perception is reality.
America’s darkest years. Hah, pardon the pun.
I guess Joan is a big liberal dim so not much came of that. I thought it was funny.
“Joan Rivers once said, We used to have Jackie O., now we have Blackie O.
I can’t believe she said that! She’s a character that Joan.
She used to have a radio show in NYC and one day she was talking about her neighbors in her building, I’m sure very high end all around. She said they didn’t nothing but b*tch and moan about every little thing. “These are Jews, people, Jews!” she said in conclusion.
I didn’t really know if she meant they were always complaining because they were Jews, or if they SHOULDN’T be complaining, because they were Jews and based on past history if they were living the high life in NYC they had nothing to complain about.
I always remember it because it years before my sainted Jewish dentist Dr. P. once said the exact same thing.
For some reason that didn’t even make sense at the time we got on the subject of Hitler and Stalin signing the non-agression pact. My dentist had been a student at college in NY and all the commies there thought Hitler was now wonderful. “These people were Jews!” Dr. P. said, still exasperated at their stupidity decades later.
And, as we all know, they haven’t gotten any smarter since! (Not Jews, Lefties, just to be clear.)
Handy for the environment and nomadic lifestyle at the time.

I think Michelle should take a tour of Guinea before coming home so that she can assess the ebola problem there.... Oh, what’s that? ... She can’t take any trips that actually have any practical applications? Got it.
One of them deleted an entire thread earlier about how the Chinese hotel staff were sick of her and mother.
If the FR management has some issue with making fun of the Wookie, they should just come out and state it clearly, not sneak around deleting posts.

$1.5M Hotel Bill for President Obamas One-Day Visit to Brussels
APR 4, 2014 BY JERYL BIER
In late March, President Obama took a week-long trip through Europe which included a stop of less than 24 hours in Brussels, Belgium for meetings with the European Union and NATO. The president stayed at The Hotel, a twenty-seven story hotel in the center of the city. The estimated cost for the presidents stay, including about two weeks for an advance team, was $1,522,646.36.
Despite reports that the president travelled with an entourage of 900, the Justification and Approval documents only indicate a need for 283 Lodging Rooms. However, sometimes more than one hotel is used during VIP trips. For instance, when the president travelled to South Africa for Nelson Mandelas funeral, five different hotels were used.
Contracts for lodging have not yet been posted for the presidents other stops during his Europe trip, which included the Netherlands and Rome, Italy.
The American middle class shrunk 25% under Obama... and for the suffering unemployed Americans... cake
