Romney Takes on Tea Party in Idaho
Newsmax ^ | March 21, 2014 | Courtney Coren

Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney this week campaigned in Idaho for Gov. Butch Otter and Rep. Mike Simpson, who have primary battles against tea party challengers, to prevent the GOP from veering "wild right."
"I'm here today in Idaho . . . to make sure people understand that the people I'm standing with right here are the right team of conservative leaders to help the people of Idaho," Romney said, according to NPR.

According to David Adler, director of the Andrus Center for Public Policy at Boise State University, Romney's purpose in the state is to help with voter turnout and to keep the Republican Party from veering "into the wild right, which will hurt Idaho and hurt America."
Adler said that voter turnout is key for establishment Republican candidates because "the assumption [is] that there are more moderate members of the GOP then there are hard right wingers."

How about inspector of Mexican Chicken Ranches?

A sort of homecoming.

Jim Robinson was totally right about Romney. He deserves full credit for it.

I voted for McCain too. Looking at it in terms of risk, it seemed to me that odds were decent McCain would end up in a straight jacket sooner or later, and Palin would be in place. But I still voted for the guy.

I pinged J Random Freeper on this because he really helped me open my eyes recently. I presume you're from Georgia, GG2. I'm in California. I voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger with my eyes wide open, knowing he was for the most part a functional liberal. I voted for Meg Whitman, an MBA Romney clone even worse than Arnold. I voted for her "against" Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown, the nickname explains it all. He won.

J Random Freeper has made the reasonable, obvious point that if you vote for liberals, you're a liberal.

Pretty hard to argue; it is like saying one plus one equals two.

I may have been voting conservative in intention, but in function, I was voting for leftism. Pure and simple. I was a functional liberal. Thanks to JRandom's words I now grasp the reality of it.

Truth is a pretty good lead to figuring out solutions. Could the solution be to ONLY view votes as "for," eyes wide open?

Cause voting "against" is losing like the Titanic.

Well, I for one am relieved. I wouldn't want my home state to turn to the right or anything.

Something radical has to happen.

Repentance comes to mind.

We are still trying to fix a Spiritual problem with politics.

Please. At least Al Gore is honest about what he is, a Democrat. Slick Willard ain’t.

Romney's lack of honesty has always been wildly obvious.

GG2 and I have finally manned up and faced a hard, cold truth: the only thing that matters is what you vote FOR.

You guys will never have the perfect candidate. So what are you going to do, keep praying for liberals to win? Not me, I'm gonna vote against the bastards every single time.

"You guys will never have the perfect candidate."

Nonsense. There are lots of great candidates. Remarkably, they are always antithetical to the left-wing RINO establishment, and why they have to keep being destroyed. Thing is, they expect us to vote for their appalling anointed ones time and time again, but they will never support OUR choice (and keep telling us how OUR choice will lose !). Frauds like McCain & Willard were put up for one purpose... keep Conservative candidates away from the nomination, and ultimately elect the Democrat. "We have nothing to fear from an Obama Presidency." -- McCain

"So what are you going to do, keep praying for liberals to win?"

Most of us pray for leftists to lose, so when you have a Leftist RINO and leftist Democrat, what does one do but pray for them both to be defeated.

"Not me, I'm gonna vote against the bastards every single time."

Me, too. I'm gonna vote against ALL leftist bastards every single time, whether they be the Communist Democrat or the Socialist RINO ringer. No more mindless rubber stamps for a party that claims to oppose the Democrats, yet does everything it can to aid and abet their Presidential candidates and their big government agenda.

The big dummy picked the wrong party to run in. Elitist, leftist, phony, pathological liar, filthy rich, sleazy, grandiose sense of personal entitlement, malignant narcissist, completely out of touch... Willard was truly the perfect Democrat candidate.

You guys will never have the perfect candidate.

Show me one single post, steelwheels, ONE SINGLE POST, ONE SINGLE WORD, that says or even implies that we are insisting on a "perfect candidate."

Steelwheels, you have to engage in falsehoods in order to support your argument. That's a bad sign right there.

Let's try it a different way. You vow: Not me, I'm gonna vote against the bastards every single time.

How do you vote "against"?

Since you do it quite a lot, it should be a simple question for you to answer here on this forum. HOW do you vote "against" the bastards?

Looking forward to your answer.

OK friends, do your thing and good luck, but for me I can guarantee you won't find me on my knees praying for Jeb to lose against Hill.
