what? Is this for real? In a once free nation?
How long are we going to put up with these examples of insanity from the left. In order for idiots to “feel” safe, we have to turn ordinary, law abiding citizens into criminals?
[ Officials searched Wisers car in the school parking lot and found an assortment of items, including a pocketknife, a stun gun, and two Airsoft pellet guns. Wiser said the Airsoft guns were in his trunk because he planned to participate in the sport after school. The stun gun was locked in his glove compartment for self-defense. The pocketknife was inside his EMT medical vest. ]
What officials and did they have a warrant?
Were they school officials?
Zero Tolerance policies are Police State Bull Crap
This story is so evil I can’t comment on it without getting myself zotted.
A pocket knife is a tool - not a weapon.
But here is an Ohio prosecutor and cops too stupid to understand the difference.
Liberals keep taking over America, and conservatives keep going to work, reading about the issue and complaining.
Meanwhile liberals keep taking over America.
Just saying.
Oh good grief!
This country has 18 year olds who have bled for their country overseas and are deemed to young to order a beer and we have twenty-six year old pajama boys who aren’t too old to be on their parent’s insurance.
Which is a man?
If I was this kid's dad I'd be looking to kick some prosecutor ass.
Uh huh. People who think its a weapon need their heads checked. Seriously.
I have trouble believing this would really destroy one’s career chances especially once one described what happened and the details. But if there are zero tolerance policies or if this sticks as a felony and that alone is a disqualifier then I’m at a loss. This country is in ways equal if not worse than communist shtholes of the past for bureaucratic insanity when it comes to some zero tolerance and PC rules and red tape over a stain on someone’s record.
The masters of Zero Tolerance demanding that we tolerate all manner of INSANITY...does not sit at all well with me!
The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there arent enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.
Ayn Rand.
From “Atlas Shrugged”:
Dr. Ferris smiled. . . . . .”We’ve waited a long time to get something on you. You honest men are such a problem and such a headache. But we knew you’d slip sooner or later - and this is just what we wanted.”
“You seem to be pleased about it.”
“Don’t I have good reason to be?”
“But, after all, I did break one of your laws.”
“Well, what do you think they’re for?”
Dr. Ferris did not notice the sudden look on Rearden’s face, the look of a man hit by the first vision of that which he had sought to see. Dr. Ferris was past the stage of seeing; he was intent upon delivering the last blows to an animal caught in a trap.
“Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against - then you’ll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We’re after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you’d better get wise to it. There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now, that’s the system, Mr. Rearden, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.”
Watching Dr. Ferris watch him, Rearden saw the sudden twitch of anxiety, the look that precedes panic, as if a clean card had fallen on the table from a deck Dr. Ferris had never seen before.
What Dr. Ferris was seeing in Rearden’s face was the look of luminous serenity that comes from the sudden answer to an old, dark problem, a look of relaxation and eagerness together; there was a youthful clarity in Rearden’s eyes and the faintest touch of contempt in the line of his mouth. Whatever this meant - and Dr. Ferris could not decipher it - he was certain of one thing: the face held no sign of guilt.
bout time parents start to exercise their own zero-tolerance policy
I know what knives EMTs and Fireman (and LEOs) carry here. They have $300 folding knives that can cut through auto sheet metal in an emergency if required. Some are even automatic (aka "Switchblades"), which are legal here for first responders. They need them.
The only part that really surprises me is that he could actually cut through a seatbelt with a swiss army knife.
I wonder whether said school has a baseball team, and if so where they keep the bats. Under many circumstances a baseball bat is a much more effective weapon than a pocketknife.
He should rely on the justice system. A jury will acquit.
Just imagine how those people must think that this kind of thing makes them look good. How can it possibly bring them feelings of well-being? It’s about time for the rest of us to say “F” them and horse they rode in on.
Well...when you think about it; how else are you going to balance the racial criminal divide. /S
