I always felt that health care should be a right, not a privilege in this country... If healthcare is a "right" then what will he do when we run out of money? When the "free" healthcare offered by the government is not good enough to provide people the sort of lifestyle they believe they are owed? What happens then to his "right" to free healthcare?
I am very wary of claiming anything as a "right" that could cost our neighbors hundreds of billions of dollars per year, and which could potentially bankrupt us. Rights such as freedom of speech, religion, press, and assembly cost comparatively little to protect. The "right" to healthcare could send your neighbor to the poor house.

No, I dont regret the vote. Im proud of the vote. Proud of the fact that taxpayer money is now being used to fund abortion. Let this be a lesson to everyone. There is no such thing as a pro-life Democrat.

They have poll-tested, Health-care should be a right, not a privilege.Having congressmen and senators should be a right, not a privilege. We should not have to pay for their salaries.

I wonder how many congress people are NOT cashing in. I’d bet the vast majority are out and out bought and paid for.

Im glad to have helped accomplish that goal,...yeah, right - 45 million uninsured as the excuse for this sham, and by now only 5 million have signed up under the new law - and 80% of them had insurance before the law came alone and threw them off of their original policies - the only goal you've helped accomplish is to ruin the best medical system in the world and take us steps closer to government pays- and controls-all health care.....

Well put Nachum. It is CRIMINAL for Congress to exempt themselves from ANY law they pass, not just ObastardCare.

You cannot legislate a right. If you want something to become a right, you have to do it the Constitutional way - by amendment.

Our rights come from God. The Constitution, and the Amendments, are there to protect us from Big Government, which invariably wants to take them from us.

” I always felt that health care should be a right, not a privilege in this country.”
Given the logic displayed in this sentiment, I pose the question:
Why aren’t legal services, food, clothing, housing and transportation “a right, and free”?

In that case Bart, who are you willing to FORCE to provide medical services? Are you proposing that the government should FORCE everyone to actively participate in their rights? Are you willing to force everyone to practice religeon? Are you willing to force everyone to participate in political speech? Are you willing to force everyonen to “bear arms?”
What say you Bart?
