"Well be making a big technology announcement in June around how we are going to approach this," said H-P (HPQ +2.2%) CEO Meg Whitman at yesterday's annual meeting.
Whitman argued current 3D printers suffer from speed and substrate quality shortcomings, and insisted her company has "solved both these problems."

Probably be garbage like their laptops.
The good news: The HP 3D printer will cost only $99.
The bad news: Replacement spools of feedstock material will cost $150 each, and last for an average of 1.5 items of 1000 CC in volume.
I have bought three HP computers and various HP printers.
Never again..........................
If it were an acquisition, there would be rumors on the street before the announcement, so it must something they are working on internally...some breakthrough that they believe will change the current lay of the land for the business side of the 3-D printing business.
And then will demand a 2 GB download to patch itself.
The printer works well, it just isn’t as inexpensive per sheet as you’d expect in a laser printer. I had an HP black and white laser I bought in 1992 that just died last Dec with endless paper jams (prompting the purchase of the new printer.) 21 years isn’t bad for a coumputer product.
It was B&W, less parts...............We have at work an old laser IBM printer from that era, still works.....................
I’m holding out for a 3D dot matrix printer. BTT
Ping a ling
Yeah ....
I’m gonna print several copies of my wife and girlfriend, Morgan Fairchild.
Yeah, that’s the ticket, Morgan Fairchild.
Wish I could figure out how to keep my HP printer from sending me daily newsletter from Tony freaking Robbins.
I want a 3D mimeograph machine.
Yeah, me too. I wonder how many times you’d have to turn the crank...
Using capacitors that swell and burst within a year.
I have two Ultimakers that have been moded for improvements. I am printing with nylon (242 C) now and I find it superior to ABS or PLA. However, this is driving further mods. The G3 pico extruder head is the next mod and that should get me to be able to print Polycarbonate (Lexan).
I hate HP. I will never buy an HP product. Their business model for ink is rapacious of their customers. F*** HP.
It may be coming http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3125994/posts
HP products used to rock. I remember Laserjet II printers that ran for years and years.
Then came Carley "who needs actual engineers" Fiona.
Yep.
Pingworthy oh keeper of 3deee ping list?
