Consider what passes for a scandal in New York City these days: The rich, conservative Koch family funding a wing of a city hospital. Wall Street types financing charter schools for poor kids in the South Bronx and Harlem. Non-union Walmart trying to open a store in a low-income neighborhood, which would deliver both cheaper goods and jobs to the locals.

You are damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
Liberal whine is constantly negative.
To a liberal, this threatens the government nanny state franchise on wealth distribution.
It is government above all else.
No good deed goes unpunished.
arent they more libertarian than conservative
To the rich in NYC.
You want to help? take your money elsewhere. Pleanty of poor places in the south that have poor kids and poor schools.
We have need of hospital wings too, invest here.
Why get kicked in the butt for everything? Just give them the big F U, and go help someplace else.

Are the rich going to be welcome in the South or blasted likewise?
don’t think the south has the “if it moves, tax it” mentality NY and NYC does. I’m also pretty sure the folks in the south would be much more appreciative than the arrogant residents of NYC.......IMHO
“Wall Street types financing charter schools for poor kids in the South Bronx and Harlem.”
A little birdie told me that these charter schools are financed by the wives of wealthy hedge fund owners, and they are livid at de Blasio. The birdie also chirped that unnamed investigators are hard at work, and comrade de Blasio won’t last past the first year of his mayoral term.
Nor Hell a Fury, like a Woman scorn’d.
For the sake of being ‘hip’ and ‘with it,’ these rich fools voted Blasio in.
To a lefty-Rat, there is no good except the state. Period. If you have money it is your duty to give it to the state. Except for their money, they are entitled to that of course.

Charter schools are public schools; while the wealthy may voluntarily contribute to them, it is more likely that some want them to keep their kids away from the more savage students of the NYC public school system.
yep, I have non sympathy for them.
