What the link doesn't elaborate on is that the family had a permit to build the 'stock pond' from the State of Wyoming, not just 'followed the rules'.

A guy posted something to me about some things going on in Kansas where “they” use google to look for “new ponds” then backtrack looking for permits.

They are clever. The end goal is complete takeover of private property. They can’t do that just now, so they take a little here a little there. The property tax confiscates a percentage each year, they take over bodies of water by declaring them wetlands, they destroy your privacy by flying drones overhead.

They tried that here on the Alabama river. The powers that be decided that there is an Alabama sturgeon that should be in the river. Supposedly there have been TWO of the d**n things caught over the years. It looks just like the Mississippi sturgeon. They stopped dredging and commercial use of the river. Of course the folks that live along or use the river for fishing and boating are actually happy to have the river to themselves.
If some good ol’ boy catches one of the critters, no one will ever know. The officials have no clue what is out there in the wilds. They finally had to add a gator season on the river because people kept running into huge gators. For years the wild life people said there couldn't be a breeding population because it was too far north. They blamed the sitings on gators that people had turned loose.

Private property rights died when our forefathers accepted property taxes. Try not paying your property taxes for a year or two and you will find out who owns your property and what it's true worth is.

I have 3 ponds on my place. Two were built by the MUD to aid in flood control.

If the EPA wants to control mine, I will breach the dams and let the down stream deal with it.
