Seems like a pretty good one felt here in South Bay
I teach school— and have a feeling classrooms will be empty today.
Whenever there is an earthquake, no matter how small, parents line up at the gate to get their kids, sometimes keeping them out for days at a time.
I’m off to work, hope that’s the last of it for a while. Got everyone’s attention and was a good reminder that we sit on one of the most dangerous earthquake faults in the world here in Los Angeles.
Waiting for LAT/NYT to blame fracking...
Who cares, LOL?
I don’t know anyone else but I admit I am terrified during quakes — all those scare stories in the media about the “big one” and all.
Time to review earthquake procedures — trust me, that one got my attention, I felt like I was right on top of it — and looking at the coordinates, I probably WAS — it was centered underneath my Lazy Boy recliner!!
Updated on the Southern California Earthquake Center as a 4.4, centered very close to the Getty Museum in the Sepulveda pass.
My house here in the San Fernando Valley “rattled” noisily for about 5 seconds. Not a big deal. It was not one of those deep rolling ones. It was a shallow but noisy one. No damage that I can see, may have some cracks in stucco (need to go look outside later)...
This was a little shaker. Big deal.
bump
Must be at least a 4.2 then...
Yeah, I’m in Northridge.. :(
In a hotel in Van Nuys. Definitely felt it.
Record heat yesterday. Much cooler today. EQ A familiar pattern.
“...It made the weights on my cuo cuo clock swing.”
For some reason I see Governor Cuomo sticking his head out of cuckoo clock and asking for more money every hour on the hour.
Oh good! get out the popcorn Send all the rat representative congress people and thier rat nieghboring state reps home to enjoy this.
Not a chance. That was at the other end of the state. Different faults systems and about 500 miles
Felt it in Rancho Palos Verdes. The cat felt it too and ran under the table.
@911LAPD Please do not call 911 to report the #earthquake. We are well aware of it. Lines need to be kept open for emergencies
A caller to Laura Ingraham was mid-sentence and interrupted himself saying he was in California and they were having an earthquake and he had to get off. Laura thought maybe they’d been punked....apparently not!
