The first time I saw him, he did a monologue about going on a bus with a bunch of brooms...posing as a salesman.
Talented gentleman. Thanks for the laughs!!.

Seventy-eight? How did that happen. . .(Still, no doubt; seventy-eight years young.) Peace to David; his family and all near and dear, who will miss him.

I remember when he did a Tonight Show routine about visiting a Post Office and seeing a sign that said, “No dogs allowed except for seeing eye dogs” and then asking, “Who was that sign for?”

I remember him when Johnny was host. He was pretty funny guy and pretty clean for a comic.
RIP, thanks for the laughs

Very funny man.
I was the class clown and watching him in the mid-70s almost made me choose standup comedy as a career.
Crippling stage fright kept me from pursuing it, but he was the main person who inspired me to seriously consider comedy as a profession.
RIP, Mr. Brenner. Godspeed.

Mr. Brenner was from my neck of the woods. Remembering his comedy when I was growing up. I didn’t know he was 78 years old.
Rest in peace, David Brenner.

A very funny man... I’m getting old.

He was on the very short list of Johnny Carson’s replacements
when Johnny retired but was considered too ethnic.
