Piracy and pilot suicide are among the scenarios under study as investigators grow increasingly certain the missing Malaysia Airlines jet changed course and headed west after its last radio contact with air traffic controllers.
The latest evidence suggests the plane didn't experience a catastrophic incident over the South China Sea as was initially suspected. Some experts theorize that one of the pilots, or someone else with flying experience, hijacked the plane or committed suicide by plunging the jet into the sea.

I hope that if this is what indeed happened that these passengers were already asleep(Since it was 1am most of them would have been sleeping anyway) and that they didnt feel a thing..so where are the bodies, in some mass grave somewhere? I doubt they would have just dumped them in the ocean, bodies float..even Laci Peterson after being missing for six months eventually floated, so did her unborn child
Bingo. And once the highjackers figured out a simulator was not the same as a real plane, and that they didn’t have sufficient fuel to get to where they were going the only direction they were going was down. I would start at the last known location and do a fan search from that point to points 4-5 hours flying time out per the engine monitors.
The whole Iran stole the plane make no sense to me. Iran has a national airline ergo they have airplanes they could repaint, refit and use as bombs. Why would they need to steal one?
Still no Adam Ant denials that the muslim pilots said “Alley Snackbar” and nosedived the plane as has happened countless times before...
I guess also they could have taken the plane up 45,000 ft several times during the long hi-jacked flight for short periods of time (15 sec or less) which would knock out passengers and make them very sick when they came to, thus keeping them under control. But keeping it up at 45,000 ft for minutes would kill the passengers. 5 minutes might kill all of the passengers in one whack.
10,000 pounds of foam insulate and clean underwear make a footprint.
So by the time they died, they were all DemocRATs?
The comment I made about the UFO requires no elucidation except for those like yourself being administered hourly electroshock therapy.
Revolting Cat, Exquisitely appropriate user name. Especially the first part. Revolting Cat. I pray for your recovery.
Absolutely, positively true. In all, every scenario presented regarding the fate of the Malaysian Airliner. suicide seems the unlikeliest of realities.

They were too high up (and or far from land) for cell phones to work?
I agree, a suicidal pilot doesn’t care where he nosedives the plan into, he could care less, he could have done it easily in the China Sea, why would the Indian Ocean be so significant..if someone wants to off themselves for Allah or whatever I doubt the place that it is done matters
Maybe it was a test run. They wanted to see if they could do it but failed and it crashed. The rest of them are going to have to go back to training.
I doubt it crashed..its somewhere..question is, could they have reached Iran or Pakistan with the amount of fuel they had on board? Iran has been sending out some of their usual rhetoric this week, saying “We are just waiting for word to destroy Israel” now I know that Iran is just blowing their typical BS but maybe they have something to do with this and are just waiting for the right time..I doubt they hit Israel though, you practically need a rectal exam to enter the country, and my brother in law, he knows a few EL AL pilots, each one is given a code when they enter Israeli airspace, if these fools given them the wrong code they will get shot down no questions asked
India developed a deepwater transit center, harbor, highways, railroads, and a 12,500-runway at Chahbadar, Iran, on the Gulf of Oman and about 40 miles to the Pakistan border.
Distance from Kuala Lumpur to Chahbadar, 3,100 miles, well within the plane’s range.
While offshore on a sailboat, say, 5 - 10 nm range is typical (to the nearest cell phone tower/repeater). Sitting at the top of a mountain they’ve achieved 30-50 nm. Inside a 777 fuselage with lots of electrical noise from systems who knows?
I think it’s become clear that this was a hijacking. I think the ac has most likely crashed in the Indian Ocean. That seems to be the case based on the evidence/information we, the public, have been given up to now. It either crashed or was shot down. I would like to think those passengers are still alive on some remote airfield in Aceh or one of the islands, but it’s not looking like it.
Or the east coast - what made you think the west coast? Just curious.
