All Andy Johnson wanted to do was build a stock pond on his sprawling eight-acre Wyoming farm. He and his wife Katie spent hours constructing it, filling it with crystal-clear water, and bringing in brook and brown trout, ducks and geese. It was a place where his horses could drink and graze, and a private playground for his three children.
But instead of enjoying the fruits of his labor, the Wyoming welder says he was harangued by the federal government, stuck in what he calls a petty power play by the Environmental Protection Agency. He claims the agency is now threatening him with civil and criminal penalties including the threat of a $75,000-a-day fine.
I have not paid them a dime nor will I, a defiant Johnson told FoxNews.com. I will go bankrupt if I have to fighting it. My wife and I built [the pond] together. We put our blood, sweat and tears into it. It was our dream.
But Johnson may be in for a rude awakening.

He should’ve built a swimming resort and go for broke if he knew this was going to happen..
Repeal ALL of that crap.
What Cruz wanted to do to Obamacare is EXACTLY what the Democrats are now THEMSELVES doing to Obamacare; DELAYING IT. Funny how the media refuses to acknowledge this.
This type of thing is happening more and more. The EPA federal employees (every last one of them) needs to lose their jobs in a 100% RIF and the EPA’s responsibilities transferred to a new agency stocked with new people recruited FROM THE PEOPLE. Congress needs to transfer responsibility for managing water ways and “wet lands” to a more citizen friendly agency and needs to MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO TREAT CO2 AS A POLLUTANT.
Give that disgusting group of creatures known as the EPA their retirement contributions and let them get REAL JOBS or apply for their 6 months of unemployment.
Shoot shovel shut up.
Where the hell is the country sheriff during all this....
The county Sheriff should be kicking the little federal pukes the hll of this man’s property and signing a restraining order against the feds....
Or someone could easily win in the next country sheriff election on this specidif platform!
He had a permit from the State of Wyoming allowing him to build the pond.
Maybe the EPA has been tasked by the president with instigating a new civil war.
I would not want somebody upstream from my property messing with what comes down.
But that would be a civil matter if this is the case.
8 acres is not ‘sprawling’ anywhere, never mind Wyoming. And out west water rights are extremely sensitive - the EPA may be the least of this guy’s problems. An old friend tried to get leaky irrigation canals in Colorado fixed, only to learn that they were ‘intentionally’ leaking onto the farms of the politically-connected - he learned this when his trailer home was fire-bombed and he crashed naked through his back wall because the exits were burning.
And people think voting for Marxists or RINOs is a joke. Incredible how many people out there are naive when it comes to history. “Oh tyranny could NEVER happen here! It’s the USA!” Well here you go: Tyranny in all its glory. The Master says you will not build a pond or he will steal all your money because it’s the Masters land not yours.
According to the article he's got it stocked with fish. If it's supporting a healthy fish population, I'd be very skeptical about it being stagnant, or being a substantial breeding ground for mosquitos.
[ Shoot shovel shut up. ]
No No No....
I have a better method thought up for dealing with these federal beer-o-craps....
You “detain” them, force them to drink a 1/5 or more of vodka, drive them out a ways into the country in their car, get out of their car, put a brick on the car’s gas pedel, crash it into trees/fence with no one inside, if car is not on fire have them sit in car, make them drink some more.... and leave ....
On your way back to the farm call the country sheriff and report you saw a car driving all over the road recently on country road wherever...
Local Harassed Farmer/rancher: “Funny thing about the fed agents who come to visit in this neck of the woods, they can’t seem to hold their liquor..... And they also come up with all sorts of crazy stories to try to get themselves out of a DUI conviction too....”
Sic semper tyrannis..............
[ on his property
Silly man for thinking that he actually owns something! Under the new world order private property is what you pay taxes on, and insurance, and you can get sued for, and where you get to shovel the snow and cut the grass. ]
It is the “Kings” Land and the King is the only one who can tell you what you can and cannot do on it....
Only we have replaced the “King” with a system of beer-o-craps instead of a single tyrant, we have multiple redundant tyrants....
The writer of the article is likely from some craphole city where 8 acres would seem big. For them an 1/8 acre is a nice sized yard.
Seems to me if the State allowed it, then they should be answering to the EPA, not the homeowner. (Not that I agree with the EPA).
I think the appropriate response is to send a few EPA administrators to a taxidermist to be stuffed and mounted.
[ Id soak it down good with gasoline and set it on fire.
After a few days Id fill it in with dirt or concrete. All of this would be recorded, and Id send it to the EPA bureaucrats that have been giving me trouble. ]
I like the way you think...
If I can’t have nice things, I can’t have nice things and they cannot tax my increased property value of my nice things...
What is the difference between appointed bureaucrats making regulations and fines and taxation without representation? Why is this allowed??! If it is so bloody important for there to be all these regs on the books I at least want our incompetent Congress to have to rubber stamp them. That way we have someone to blame and vote out. Only downside is Congress will have to work more, and that’s OK with me.
