The Logitech headset I bought at Walmart (post #46) have surprisingly good sound quality for the price.
Additionally, I read somewhere that setting the TV’s BASS to 0 and the TREBLE to 100 helps make the audio more discernable.

I am going to try that ...the bass definitely gets in the way.
