Don’t believe the media. What I have seen with my own eyes and ears is Rand Paul stands up to Obama.

They are going after him because of this article in the NYT. Immigration is NOT a priority, it is a ruse by the Dems to make Republics seem racists. They do that very effectively. Don’t go after every bone they throw out because that is how they confuse and distract.

Rand Paul Wins Conservative Straw Poll
By JONATHAN MARTINMARCH 8, 2014

OXON HILL, Md. — Senator Rand Paul, Republican of Kentucky, won a presidential straw poll at a prominent conservative conference here on Saturday, capturing 31 percent of the vote among no fewer than 10 potential candidates.

“He added that Russian President Vladimir Putinhas “some law on his side” in Crimea because Russia held a lease on a naval base in the Crimean city of Sevastopol.”

Maybe I am missing something. Just what threat did the Ukrainians pose to the Russian leases to their naval and military bases in the Crimean?

Context:

Russia and Ukraine agree on gas, naval base

Russia agreed yesterday (21 April) to cut the price of its gas supplies to Ukraine by 30% in exchange for a 25-year extension of the lease of its Black Sea fleet based on Ukraine's Crimean peninsula.

This is a very good example of why US energy independence is such a critical national security issue, and what a traitor President Obama is for blocking the Keystone XL pipeline, new exploration and drilling at federal and offshore sites, and new refinery capacity.

Wow, your responsible for your family’s actions? How did Jimmy Carter ever win with that alcoholic brother?

All these idiots spouting off about “international law” are just ignorant of the fact that there is no such thing as international law. Has been and always will be the law of “might makes right” on the international scene, if you don’t have the military strength to enforce your will then tough cookies.

We did it in Kosovo when we bombed the heck out of Serbia until they gave up Kosovo to the Muslims and we did it in Iraq where we invaded on a phony WMD pretext to bounce out Saddam because he had the gall to try and assassinate Bush Sr. And now Russia is doing the same with Ukraine, the only question that matters is are they strong enough to do it, which so far seems to be yes.

And Ron Paul is right about one thing, it really is none of our business, we have no dog in this race so why get our panties in a bunch?

Regarding our foreign policy, I think the first President had the right idea and is more in keeping with our nation's stated beliefs:

"I have always given it as my decided opinion that no nation has a right to intermeddle in the internal concerns of another;
that every one has a right to form and adopt whatever government they liked best to live under themselves;
and that if this country could, consistently with its engagements, maintain a strict neutrality and thereby preserve peace,
it was bound to do so by motives of policy, interest, and every other consideration."
--George Washington, from Letter to James Monroe, August 25,1796

-------------

"The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is, in extending our commercial relations to have with them as little political connection as possible.
So far as we have already formed engagements let them be fulfilled with perfect good faith.
Here let us stop."
-- George Washington, farewell address, 1796

I was hoping that Rand Paul had inherited enough of his father's views on global bullying to stay out of situations such as this. He was already questionalble about the invasion of the US, but has tempered his statements.

We need someone with the wisdom and experience of Eisenhower, who warned us about the military industrial complex. Another thing that person needs is an educational background that included a historical study of the best uses of US military strength.

What am I saying? Even our faves don't have the wisdom or knowledge to be making decisions about international situations that could lead to war. Maybe they should ask to put our troops on our southern border and then just SHUT UP.

Another establishment hack outfit helping to make sure hillary gets back into the white house. You guys might not like what was once the libertarian wing of the republican party, but you’re going to keep losing without them.

Lets have a free election, with Russian troops standing outside the polling station.
