Threats to CT Police Escalate Following CT Cop’s Gun Confiscation Comments – Cops Ask Pro-Gun Veteran to Help Cool Things Down
According to Cinque, Officer Joseph Peterson, who made comments in interaction on Facebook while off duty that he would "give my left nut to bang down your door and come for your gun…" has been placed on 24-hour guard due to threats on his life. This information came directly from Police Chief Kevin Halloran.
Mr. Cinque told us that he had a two and a half hour "sit down" with the Branford Police Department on Tuesday. He said that the Branford PD was supposed to come out with an apology for Peterson's comments and wanted Cinque's endorsement of the apology in an attempt to cool things down.
"The first words out of the police chief's mouth… were 'How can you help us with this?'" Cinque said. "They're getting killed over there. They said they can do nothing but deal with this."
Cinque's endorsement would not be automatic. "There are some things here that need to be addressed before I endorse the apology," he said. "Don't make the apology to me. The apology has to be to the residents of Branford and to the citizens of the State of Connecticut."
"If we are looking to tamp this thing down…none of us need violence here," Cinque continued.
"We're winning this thing; we're winning this thing hard here," Cinque said, referring to the efforts to ignore unconstitutional and unlawful legislation that seeks to have citizens register their semi-automatic rifles and high capacity magazines.
"That's the last thing we need," he added, referring to violence.

I live in Branford. I am very confident the threats are real. There is a LOT of anger towards this guy, and I don’t see any way he could ever be a cop in this town ever again.
IIRC, you make a cut (around the circumference) of the hull about the base of the shot charge. This sends the shot charge, wad, and end of the hull out the barrel as one unit.
In town, we have had an awful lot of neighbor to neighbor talk, I'm told. People are watching out for each other. An awful lot of 'for every raid they do, we'll take out one of them, and they;ll run out of cops real quick' kind of talk.
I think a lot of cops in town are really scared because a LOT of people in town are really pissed
Yeah, right. Where are the throngs of "good" cops on this police force calling for his resignation? Where are the "good" cops on this police force who have gone to arrest their brother for statements that would have gotten one of us commoners arrested tout de suite for saying the same thing to one of them? How about all of the "good" cops across the fruited plains calling for the resignation or termination for cause of this man who says he wants to murder gun owners while he's on duty? There are none. By their words and deeds, we shall know them.
I think the anger is justified. My remark is that I doubt the senitment against him rises to the level of being a credible threat. So far, he is just a bigmoth, and generally speaking, that is not enough to justify use of force against him.
At the same time, I fully expect some people have expressed there, just like here, that if the cop comes banging on their door to enforce this particular law, that they will use deadly force in resistance.
Anonymous remarks that are direct, unconditional threats? I expect those are made by gun grabbers, some of which are supposed to be public servants, and some of which may be fellow police officers.
Cops, as a group, are not trustworthy, nor is the "justice" system that gives them a nearly unrebuttable presumption in their favor. That system is very much an "us vs. them" affair, with the general public being lower on the totem pole. I'm talking about the attitude of cops, prosecutors and judges.
I do agree about toning down the rhetoric.
I think your sentiment about being able to "educate" them is Pollyanna. I also doubt that as much as 15% of the police force would refuse an order to confiscate guns. They are "law and order" types, and if the law says the guns are forbidden to the general public, then the function of the police is merely enforcement - they aren't responsible for writing the "bad" law, and let the courts sort out the legalities afterwards.

The times has passed for making *nice* with ANYone who would strip me and mine from my God-given rights to defend myself....more than a few of us, in Connecticut have stake in what happens here.

Cops in Connecticut are treated with velvet gloves. A very recent case in point...
A terse summary of the events...
Rookie cop in Windsor Locks, CT is tailgate partying; he drives drunk; on the way hits and Kills a 15 y/o kid riding his bike home.
First person the scene, is rookie’s father, veteran cop Sgt. Robert Koistinen; dad takes son from scene w/out breathalyzer; subsequent breathalyzers refused; drives around town with son in car; can’t find the bottle eyewitness says rookie threw on her lawn after the accident; son is serving a five-year prison sentence.
Dad announces thus week, wants his job and *lost* wages back; instead of being drummed out of town, he wants his job back! That translates to *I want to grow my pension B4 I retire*.
Time after time, rogue cops are not held accountable for their actions. Connecticut is no exception.
These are the people Salvavida wants to *make nice* with....the same ones who can’t wait to kick down your door.
You are seeing the "officer safety above all" mentality here. Very often, the loud mouth bully is a coward. So you see officers "wait for backup" at a school shooting in progress, rather than go in and protect the kids. You see a marked preference for arresting middle-class people for minor offenses, than actually busting an inner-city drug house.
You see the police of LA during the Rodney King riots, and the NOPD during Katrina desert their posts rather than put themselves at risk.
The powers that be DO NOT WANT TO RISK people seeing just how many police would run away in a real conflict where the police do not have the advantage of overwhelming force and numbers.

**The public should not be using a tactic of “threats” against corrupt civil servants who are threatening them. There needs to be an orderly response to the epidemic of public servants who — under “color of law” — commit battery, robbery, breaking-and-entering, trespassing, terroristic threat, assault kidnapping and perjury without accountability. The problem is of epidemic proportions and it is time to make major investigations and cull the defective public servants.
In the meantime the people must be vigilant and defend the innocent citizens (using all their natural rights, as enumerated in the Constitution and Bill of Rights) coming under attack by corrupt servants.**
A utopian dream.
That kind of hits to the heart of why all these police department purchases of used military vehicles may, in fact, be a blessing.
Those vehicles may very well be needed by our side, and the cops aren't going to be nearly as motivated as we are to be sitting in the drivers seats. They are going to want to go home 'safe and sound' that evening. We already know what's at stake, and are more willing than they are to pay the price required to get control.
I just hope they keep them well maintained, fueled, with plenty of ammo.
