Andriy Parubiy, the head of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, claims that Russia has placed 80,000 solders, 270 tanks, 370 artillery systems, and 140 combat aircraft near the Ukrainian border.

“Ukraine today is facing the threat of a full-scale invasion from various directions," he said, according to The New York Times.

Okay, I know. Let’s let the Ukrainians decide, I’d say, not Putin or Soros, whoever he is. They supported Putin’s hand picked president - Yanukovych - when he negotiated an agreement with the EU. Then, Putin saw his puppet was out of line. He vetoed what Yanukovych had done. Yanukovych, a typical crony capitalist in the mold of most of Putin’s senior party supporters, was filthy rich and lording it over the ordinary Ukrainian. So they rose up and threw the bum out, like 1776 in the USA. Now, if you’re from the Vladimar Pozner wing of the pro-Putin party, you say that’s horrible. Putin runs the Ukraine, like Stalin did in 1933 when he was starving them in ways that make the potato famine look like child’s play. You cannot understand why Putin’s man got the boot. But he did. Now, Putin uses this affront to his autocracy and a bunch of hooey as an excuse to snatch the Crimea back for his plans to build a Empire to assuage his ego and military needs that are not yet fulfilled. He must have his ports. Now, here we are. You apparently a conservative or at least a poster on a conservative website and I am one for sure. But the difference is I’m a conservative both foreign and domestic. I oppose Obama and Putin. I won’t cut my criticism of Obama or Putin. They’re both frauds. They’re both statist. They both unwilling to let ordinary people live their own lives. And you’re apparently ignorant of the Ukraine. I just realize how sorry I feel for you.

Actually I’m annoyed with you calling people on this board Putinistas (sic). It’s just a little too childish for freerepublic.

Ask yourself this. If you were not for Putin, would you be annoyed? Why can’t you just be for liberty? It doesn’t have to include a cult favoring a clownish former KGB nerd like Putin. I find Obamabots and Putinistas equally annoying. I’m a conservative.

I am confident the White House is already in deep discussion about forming a new high level working group to deal with the issue, something along the lines of “The Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society”, aka “CLITORIS”.

You bet he will. This guy’s a ruthless bastard through and through, I been saying it for years. He’s got nothing to fear. From who? NATO? Us? With President Barney Fife in the WH? Ha!

Says the man who supports the Soros/Obama/EU overthrow of Ukraine.

Give it a rest. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

The billboard is in Russian, not Ukrainian.

"March" in Ukrainian is an entirely different word--berezen'.

Would Putin be so dumb as to cross the Ukrainian border with 80,00 mean, armor and aircraft?

NO way!

He knows for sure our European Allies and Ourselves under the leadership of that stalwart, patriotic President Obama won't put up with it!

Heck, John Kerry just told Russia they have until Monday to reach an agreement.

About that Czechoslovakian invasion - it consisted of four Russian armies (100,000 troops each, plus vehicles) - here you are talking about one mechanized or armored division.

The US had no idea were those armies were until they turned up in Czechoslovakia. Now we know exactly where the Russian division is located.

Not that the US will or can do anything - since we withdrew our armies from Germany.

The Ukrainian mil is too weak to do much but run or die. The civilians are likely unarmed as well - which leaves Molotov cocktails and occasional sniper fire from hunting rifles ...

But, yeah, if they meet resistance, it will be a blood bath.

Of course, there is the possibility that the Russian will just move their troops into one of the many abandoned mil bases and call it good.

Obama is worse than weak and a big reason Putin can bully so many people and countries.

More like Europe didn’t want Ukraine and Georgia in NATO due to security concerns. Both militaries have significant numbers of Russians. As Russians are not cleared for NATO-Secret access having defacto Russians as part of NATO was a non-starter.
