Frequent experiences of racism are associated with a higher risk of obesity among African American women, a new study claims.
Scientists found that women who were more frequently victimized for their race, were more likely to be obese.

It’s true.
I was at Wal-Mart the other day and there was this morbidly obese black woman riding a hoov-around with a cart full of cheetos and all i could think was, “My, God. Just look what racism has done to that poor woman.”
The link was to the very conservative Frontpage Magazine.
The article by Daniel Greenfield was intended to mock and condemn a study by "The Black Women's Health Study" purporting (or pretending) to link racism and black female fatsos.
One of the downsides of agitating for racism.
Al Sharpton is looking kind of gaunt....
EBT cards cause obesity in black women.
What happened to the food they’re eating? I suppose THAT had nothing to do with the obesity.
Wow, I thought it was overeating and not enough exercise but what do I know?
Who wants to bet that this study was all or partly funded by the taxpayers? Could be Federal, state or both
We don’t have White Castles here............Krystals..................YUMM!....................Worked for them as a teenager in the early 70’s.................
I read the title and thought they meant the more racist a black woman was, the more fat she would be. :-P
> Al Sharpton is looking kind of gaunt....
I’m going to guess its probably attributed to an illness or condition he doesn’t talk about openly in public
“Those who are more likely to PERCEIVE that they are being victimized; ie, that whatever unfortunate occurrence happened was due to racism and not due to a character issue in themselves”
Right. The conclusion could just as easily have been that fat AA women are more likely to be paranoid about racism.
More proof that people who blame something else besides themelves for their problems... have a lot of problems.
> Those who are more likely to PERCEIVE that they are being victimized; ie, that whatever unfortunate occurrence happened was due to racism and not due to a character issue in themselves
Or made to percieve they are being victimized to create political division so they can be used as a tool
And just who rags racism on these poor women all day?
White suburbia you better change your ways, and all you mexicans and Asians Spouting racist comments to these poor women better stop! We all know the hood has none of this and all these women are treated with respect!
Nip it Nip in the bud!
The fat ladies should stop being racist then. The ponds will melt away!
Finding excuses for self-inflicted pathologies, as usual.
Serena Williams?
