A co-pilot at the controls of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 invited a South African tourist and her friend into the cockpit where he smoked, took photos and entertained the pair during a previous international flight.
Malaysia Airlines says it is investigating an Australian TV report that the co-pilot on its missing flight had invited two women to stay in the cockpit for a flight two years ago.
Jonti Roos, told the show "A Current Affair" that she was invited into the cockpit along with her friend Jaan Maree, and described details of the encounter.

Here’s how you inflate the autopilot...
The airplane experienced a lot of "turbulence" while they were visiting the cockpit.
Saw that report online earlier today and my first thought was why the captain allowed it. Here in the States once that cabin door is shut and secured it doesn’t get opened for the crew to use the lav unless there’s a phalanx of flight attendants obstructing the aisle up front.
Such a lax culture of safety and security is alarming.
while they were visiting the cockpit.
Pun there??
Looking at that picture I’d have done the same.
In 2005 my attractive youngest daughter (21) and equally attractive friend were invited to tour the flight deck on an Air France 747 as it crossed the Atlantic. Nothing untoward to them, but I was aghast at the security implications.
They were after forbidden fruit!
Not Guilty - of terrorism.
I think it was Janine Pirro who commented on the lax security procedures at Malaysian airports, and added that the airline flies into the U.S.
I haven’t seen their ages listed. It’s just been reported as “teens”. Sounds like the pilots were going after some young stuff. The girl said they tried to talk them into staying over night so they could take them out. I wonder if either of the pilots are married.
If some fundamentalist onboard saw such activity then or at a later point, then they’d know that (muslim) hot blondes were a first-class ticket into the cockpit for control over the door lock for some very burly guys and/or alternate pilots.
They’d have a way to take over the aircraft and fly it where they pleased.
They’d chose a flight featuring a distance that would require the amount of avgas they needed.
The airline is probably late, the co-pilot probably did the “probing” 2 years ago!
It could be very deep water indeed. I also think he is cast into the shade.
