Sen. Rand Paul continued his aggressive brush back of comments from his usual ally Sen. Ted Cruz suggesting that Paul is positioned at the left, dovish flank of the GOP on foreign policy, telling Fox News host Sean Hannity Cruz was mischaracterizing his views.
We always have been good friends. I'm not real excited about him mischaracterizing my views. I won't let that pass. I think that sometimes want to stand up and say hey, look at me, I'm the next Ronald Reagan. Well, almost all of us in the party are big fans of Ronald Reagan, Paul said.
I've always been a big fan of peace through strength. I think America should and has a responsibility around the world and really, virtually all of the opinions that have been coming from Republicans are somewhat the same on this that Putin should be condemned, he should be isolated. I favor sanctions on Putin. So, for people to characterize that as somehow not being the Reagan position, I think they need to have a re-reading of Reagan, frankly, Paul added.

Ya mean Paul listens to the people while Cruz listens to McCain. Maybe the people will win this time.
BS. Rand voted against the amnesty bill.
Runt Paul is no conservative!
he isn’t a democrat, so what is he?
I think he’s a moderate Libertarian.
Although I do hope that Cruz keeps fighting attacks of the RINOs and Paul would stop supporting them, I agree with you about this debate between Paul and Cruz. The problem is they are falling for the drive by media's trap - they know Cruz and Paul will answer truthfully to liberal reporter's questions instead of stopping at "I disagree agreeably and I will not state anything further on the question, we are on the same Party."
You have not been following the news. Google "Rand Paul amnesty" and you will see that he has made many statements in favor of amnesty.
Oh he is running, no question about that. Because of campaign laws it would be a huge disadvantage to announce now. That’s all that is keeping him from announcing, but it doesn’t stop him from running, he just can’t admit it.
He is not going to attack his fellow Republicans, but as I am thrilled to see, he is not going to sit by and let others attack him without defending himself.
Rand Paul = Statesman. Much needed in todays cultural demise.
All that matters is that when it came down to a vote, he voted against amnesty.
He’s a Liberaltarian, turds in the punch bowl, one and all.
Rand Paul says:
“I do not support amnesty in any form. Those who wish to come here should respect our laws”
“Right now, our nation is at risk. We must get serious about our border security, and I have a concrete plan to do so: My plan includes an underground electric fence, with helicopter stations to respond quickly to breaches of the border. I would include satellite and increased aerial surveillance, and a boost of funds and training to the border agents. Finally, instead of closing military bases at home and renting space in Europe, I would advocate for more strategic location and construction of some of these bases to protect our border.”
If I could find some clear, succinct reference for that it would certainly put me in the Cruz corner.
I can get past the slight aroma of Neo Con that's about him if he's SOLIDLY AND CLEARLY against any legal status for the illegal.
Rand Paul said:
“Why Im voting no on immigration reform”
“I will be voting no on the Senates Gang of Eight immigration bill for one simple reason: because the legislation does not secure the border first.
The American people desperately need immigration reform. Unfortunately, this legislation does not do the job.
Of paramount concern is what to do with the 12 million people currently residing in the United States who are in legal limbo. No one is seriously contemplating they leave, but conservatives believe that normalizing their status should only follow serious efforts to secure the U.S.-Mexican border. And Im sorry to say that the Gang of Eights proposal is just not serious.
Any immigration reform must expand legal immigration and the work visa program so that we dont find another 12 million undocumented workers here a decade from now. The Gang of Eight bill actually decreases the number of visas for agricultural workers. Havent we seen this movie before? If work visas are less than what the market demands, the workers will come illegally and were right back where we started.”

Yep the GOP should throw out all the libertarians and see how that punch tastes without them.
Anyone caught violating must be permanently expelled...after a 12 month stretch in Sheriff Joe's work camps.
And all those here illegally must be expelled after that 12 months in work camp...except the wimmins and chillins...who should be expelled immediately.
There is no need for this pissing contest between Paul and Cruz. Childish. They should handle this personal stuff offline.
“Yep the GOP should throw out all the libertarians and see how that punch tastes without them.”
Works for me!
These two guys should be on the same side, as they are our only hope to stop the marxist liberals in their tracks and begin the process of bringing conservative change to Washington.
Here he speaks (also on the Teevee for the reading impared) of his wish to grant Amnesty to eleven million illegals.
Rand Paul Takes on Amnesty Opponents - Do they want us to put illegals in concentration camps?
In an interview with WNDtv, Sen. Paul took on the critics of so-called amnesty who oppose efforts to normalize illegal immigrants and absorb them into the United States. Lets get them work visas, lets normalize them, lets make them taxpayers, he said of the 11 million undocumented immigrants currently residing within the states.
Politicians vote against bills that they mostly, but don't entirely agree with, or for tactical reasons all the time. Like voting for cloture, but then voting against the final bill.
If we're looking for an indication of what a candidate will do as President, let's try a novel concept, and listen to what they say they want to do.
Rand Paul says he wants Amnesty.
Facts are important.
Rand Paul is a registered Republican. NOT Libertarian. When asked, I have always heard him say he was a Conservative Republican. Case in point,
Rand Paul: “Immigration reform will not occur until conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution”.
And this: “Conservatives, myself included, are wary of amnesty. My plan will not grant amnesty or move anyone to the front of the line.”
Read entire statement.
