Malaysia's military believes a jetliner missing for almost four days turned and flew hundreds of kilometers to the west after it last made contact with civilian air traffic control off the country's east coast, a senior officer told Reuters on Tuesday. --SNIP--
Malaysian authorities have previously said flight MH370 disappeared about an hour after it took off from Kuala Lumpur for the Chinese capital Beijing.
"It changed course after Kota Bharu and took a lower altitude. It made it into the Malacca Strait," the senior military officer, who has been briefed on investigations, told Reuters.

Were the stolen passports linked definitively to two Iranians? I missed that part.
A nautical mile is a minute of latitude. Global positions, maps in lat/long etc.
The head of Interpol says that the disappearance of a Malaysian airliner last weekend was probably not terrorism related.
Two stolen passports, the subject of intense scrutinty by investigators, were used by two men identified as Iranian nationals, but new information tends to discount terrorism as a motive.

The Interpol photos of these two Iranians were altered, too.
Turning back put it in a better place to be spotted initially. Flight westward across the IO is a place of admitted gaps in coverage and flight following.
Klingon cloaking device.
Well the ship is now in the UAE so your idea about them finding something out works best.
don’t know ... am speculating.
If this was a normal flight, I’d agree and say its crazy. But it isn’t. If we know these things, the ramp up in interest and investigation has already increased. The ideas put forth recently aren’t all discounted at face value. They are being ranked and proved out right now. The General public will know when the powers that be let us know.
Where in Somalia do you think the plane is?
If luggage had plans or technology, as could be the case ... That might explain why the spooks is spooked and altering photographs.
Maybe the stolen passports are all a red herring.
But the WSJ had this article -
So if has not crashed or made an impact, unless there is a way to turn those off, it was hijacked. In the dark.
We probably can think they have not rec'd a ransom request.
So, imo, the only thing you can conclude is that it has landed somewhere and what those who hijacked it wanted was on the plane.
That's what led me to the Freescale employees.
In normal ICAO operations a flight is flown as filed or as cleared. Controllers than expect the flight to appear on their screen squawking the proper code, and contacting or answering up on the correct freq. Where the flight crosses many airspace divisions, the controllers hand off to the next guy for flight following.
Yes, I know.
But here is where I stall out because I know nothing about electronics.
Let's say however, that based on their website, they were manufacturing chips for our defense system and had some with them.
(imho) if there was no crash (does not mean anything till found or not found <-â not found is going to take longer) but with the time-line, if no crash ... plane could be anywhere worldwide by now if refueled and had safe passage with cooperating governments. Not everybody loves western civilization, as we all know. I hate to be speculating but am with other posters. This is starting to smell. I’m giving myself seventy two hours to see something then have to go with a very strong odor and anything is possible till a crash site is found. If one is not found ... anything is still possible.
So the best place to change course in order to confuse the Controllers for the longest period of time, would be right between airspace divisions, or right before passing into a new division. Would that make sense?
From what I gather, the flight stopped transponding 1 minute before the pass off to the Vietnamese controllers was supposed to happen.
The headline says: ‘haven’t sent out signals that have been picked up’. Doesn’t mean that they were turned off or that they aren’t sending signals. Just means searchers haven’t located any signals. If it is in the water, they will have to get relatively close to it to pick up the signal.
Going to the Seychelles or Somalia? They could be intercepted before they got there.
I’d say that if a crash site is not found and there was no crash of the airplane; the crime on all time has possibly been done but I am still speculating. A lot depends on if there has been a recent breakthrough in electronics (defensive in nature) unknown.
This release is from March 3rd, but maybe too some of the Freescale people are in on it...
