That is not in conflict with my views. I would also like to see police (in general) take a less antagonistic view to the public they serve. There has been a vast shift into an Us Vs. Them mentality, and now, we in the public seem to be responding in kind.
Police should not be an army of occupation. Police should be there to prevent citizens from harming citizens. The laws have gone too far, but police are not responsible for that. Police are responsible for the attitude and approach they take with the public. Less of the Command Attitude (unless dealing with known and suspected criminals) and more of the Service Attitude, would go a long way.
I am just gushing with thankfulness for your history lesson. Willikers, I never knew that Nazis and Nazi collaborators were hanged for their crimes. But did you know that Prime Minister Tojo and Japanese military officers were also hanged after the war ended?
I support your views 100%.
Can we define the word "is"? You are really really reaching here.
If he had told the cop, on tape "yeah, and I can't wait to put a .223 round right between your brownshirt eyes when you do kick in the door".... tell me this. How long before Barney Fife gets a gaggle of his buddies to arrest him for "threatening a peace officer" or whatever statute applies in Conn?... or do threats only work one way in your world?
jerk
No I'm not reaching. Stating a fact is not reaching. I won't respond to your scenario because it gets too speculative.
ROFL!!
No you don’t.
When directly asked if you would participate in gun confiscation, you danced and hedged.
You never answered the question.
Then you claimed the question wasn’t clear.
Many of us don't care if storm troopers make it home safe. This officer has self-identified as one.
That video is unwatchable with all that background noise.
What is bothering me about that is this: Why can’t the citizenry live in peace without thugs making threats to kick in their doors, why is that acceptable to some?
For some, they are so enamoured of (abused) authority and power that they make excuses for abuses of authority and power.
The people have a right to not be threatened by the organs of the state that they employ.
The cop is a servant of the people, he would do well to remember that.
It looks like his shift is over and he’s gone home.
The cop hasn’t figured out that the government will come after him next.
I have never been to Connecticut but from a brief Google map search it appears that the two main access points through Hartford are I84 and I91.
I saw this article in the paper years ago about how sometimes on busy weekday mornings bags of nails fall off of worktrucks and completely clog major arteries. The article discussed the millions upon millions in economic damage these simple accidents can cause.
I thought it was funny because people that love the 2nd amendment buy lots of nails. I was thinking how lucky everyone in power is that 2nd amendment lovers aren’t the type to suddenly start dropping their things all over the place all the time.
Lol.
Okers.
I recall an old program in the early days of home computing called a Kant Generator - you hit a button and it started spewing out Kantian gibberish, paragraph after paragraph that sounded deeply thoughtful in a pseudo-intellectual way, but that actually said nothing.
I think the National Organization of Liberal Trolls (funded by some Soros front group, and advised by the DNC, no doubt) has created something similar - a new posting-bot program that infiltrates sites like FR and generates automated Monty Python-esque Argument Clinic style replies ad nauseam.
Hence, nothing to be lost by ignoring it - since there is no sentient intelligence behind it anyway - and much to be gained by ignoring it - in that responding to its drivel merely prompts it to produce yet more drivel.
That may be the case, but I was serious when I speculated that the poster had clocked out. He was happy to post that drivel as long as he was getting $25 to 75 an hour, but he sure wasn’t going to do it on his own time.
The program you described, perhaps tongue in cheek, would continue to generate replies.
Perhaps I’m behind the curve: are there really people being paid to troll conservative sites? Do you know who is paying them, and where the funding comes from?
If true, and it certainly may be, this is huge news.
Hahaha...gotta do something on those boring shifts at work, eh?
Given that he knows hundreds of cops, he is a cop, or works every day with them.
He cannot abstract that what a specific cop does is wrong, but instead takes criticism of the cop personally and ends up defending the indefensible.
Much in the same way many women defend other women even if what they did was wrong, or the way blacks will often defend other blacks because they personalize it.
This guy thinks because he is stubborn and persistent, he can come on here and keep making one word responses to posts. I say everyone should give him the last word.
It isn’t going to change what actually happened, and won’t change in the least his perception. The fact that he personalizes this issue is his problem, and everyone is just wasting their time responding to him and getting a one word/line response in turn that contributes nothing. People are wasting their time with the guy.
