UPDATE [12:37]: Tuoi Tre, a leading daily in Vietnam, reports that the Vietnamese Navy has confirmed the plane crashed into the ocean. According to Navy Admiral Ngo Van Phat, Commander of the Region 5, military radar recorded that the plane crashed into the sea at a location 153 miles South of Phu Quoc island.
When contacted, Malaysia Airlines declined to confirm or deny the reports, saying that the Malaysian authorities are working together with the Vietnamese government on the matter.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reports that China has dispatched two maritime rescue ships to help locate the missing plane.

CNN is reporting that 2 of the passengers on the plane, Italy (I can’t remember the other country) it appears that those passports were stolen. As the family of the Italian says his was lost or stolen a year ago and he was issued a new one, and is NOT on that plane.
We are, via news media, becoming big babies. A free society is vulnerable. Yet we live in the safest place on earth and you’d think planes were falling out of the sky every minute.

Admiral Ngo Van Phat told Reuters the plane may have crashed in Malaysian waters, 153 miles off the coast of Vietnam’s Tho Chu island, according to its speed and last known location.
The admiral denied earlier reports in Vietnamese state media quoting him as saying the plane had actually crashed.
One passport belonged to an Austrian named Christian Kozel, age 30. Passport was reported stolen two years ago. The Italian stolen passport belonged to Luigi Miraldi, age 37.
Nobody is going to publicly state this was terrorism, because that gives the terrorists a victory.
That’s why there will never officially be a plane brought down by terrorists.
That’s the only way to protect flights: insure that air terror never, never, gets acknowledged (and so it becomes worthless)
It appears that both of the European passports were stolen in Thailand. One stolen two years ago and one stolen last August. Every nation that permitted these passports through immigration should be considered terrorist enablers.
Thanks for the information.
And both the passports were stolen while the people were visiting Thailand at different times. Very interesting.

Well, it is not exactly accurate to say that no aircraft crash has or will be attributed to terrorist.
For example, we know that the four aircraft that came down on 911 were terrorist attacks.
Since then, we know that in December 2001, American Airlines Flight 63 was attempted to be destroyed in flight by Richard Reid, the “shoe bomber”, who was associated with al-Qaeda.
We know that in 2004 Russian aircraft bombings Islamist terrorist attacks on two domestic Russian passenger aircraft flying from Moscow,Volga-AviaExpress Flight 1353 and Siberia Airlines Flight 1047. The bombs were triggered by two female Chechen suicide bombers and both plains crashed with a toal loss of life of 89 persons. Shamil Salmanovich Basayev militant leader of the Chechen terrorist movement claimed credit.
We know that on December 25, 2009, Northwest Airlines Flight 253 was attempted to be destroyed by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab who tried to detonate explosives sewed into his underwear and al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula claimed responsibility for the attempted bombing.
The US is sending the USS Pickney (Destroyer???) and a P-3C from Kadena AB to assist in the search.
Is the P-3 equipped with anomaly detectors?
The pilot had been flying with Malaysian Airlines for almost 20 years. He had many, many miles and hours with them. I would likely be concerned about getting on an airline with a Shah and Fariq at the controls too, but this pilot sounds like a real pro at his job.
How long had the muslim been flying that intentionally crashed the Egypt airplane?
If it was catastrophic failure caused by a bomb or a missile, that plane was doing 500+ at altitude, they didn't have any time to think of anything, just boom, BOOOOSH, death.
We can hope it was instantaneous, but we don’t know yet. Either way, it’s terrible.
Yes
Crashes happen, bad, but not terrible. Murder, terrible.
