Authorities say a Florida woman who was 9 months pregnant and her family became ill after eating meat tainted with LSD. [ ]
Police say the bottom round steak was purchased from a Wal-Mart in Tampa. The store has turned over all its meat to police for testing.

About 10 years ago the DEA busted a ring making LSD in an old decommissioned Atlas missile silo. The DEA didn't know it at the time, but that ring was producing over 90% of all the LSD in the world.
The former wife of the guy that used to launder their money is a little space cadet. She has a popular channel on YouTube (who doesn't?). See NeuroSoup. She also has a book about the group and its demise. See Lysergic.
At my Wal-Mart, the meat comes in prepackaged from the distribution center. So other stores may be affected.
A very small amount of LSD is all that is needed to get you high......I’ve been told.
It isn't. In fact, LSD shuts down the receptors in the brain that it interacts with. It can take a week or more after a trip for the drug to be effective again.
Maybe the cow was a retired agricultural professor.
LSD is a synthetically re-produced organic chemical. It occurs naturally, along with about 25 other psychoactive chemicals, in the ergot fungus. Ergot is believed to have been a major (if not the major) cause of madness during the middle ages.

I think you may be very close to the truth here.
So would meat that has been cooked laced with LSD still get you high.?
I’ll bet it’s a fake, lawsuit bait like the finger in the Wendy’s chili story.
I'm not sure. I know that LSD deteriorates over time and that people used to keep it in their freezers (I had a dealer for a roommate in college). I'm inclined to think cooking would destroy it but I don't know.
Old joke:
Why do deadheads wave their hands in front of their faces at Grateful Dead concerts?
To keep the music out of their eyes.
Actually, no. Ergotamine, shown below, is the naturally occurring substance in the fungus from which LSD was first synthesized.
But LSD is semi-synthetic in that the ergotamine was busted in half and the two ethyls added to make the diethyl amide.
A family member probably put the LSD in the meat.
Gee, how’d you know I was a Deadhead.
If you’d ever sat in front of the wall of sound
and watched the notes tumble out and pile up
on the floor, you’d know what I’m talking about.
Oh, well done.
For $25 can you name the fungus?
C?P?
Grows on rye.
Was found on the Agrarian Plain
and used in the cult of Demeter

I’m trembling
And I’m shaking
A when ya take me in your arms
To talk romance
My heart starts doing the St. Vitus dance
An’ I’m panting
An’ I’m shaking
Attempt at levity aside, thought and prayers for the baby and family.
Yea, thought so. Pretty much all hallucigens are like that. Psylocibin, payote, salvia? I think might be. Don’t know much about salvia though.
