The once-budding friendship between President Obama and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie reached its zenith in May on a storm-ravaged boardwalk in Point Pleasant, N.J.
After Obama missed four throws at a carnival game, Christie stepped in, picked up a football and tossed it through a hoop, winning the president a stuffed bear.
“One and done,” the governor said as a crowd cheered and the two men exchanged a high-five.
On Thursday, however, Christie used an appearance before the Conservative Political Action Conference to blast Obama in personal terms, as a weak leader.
Accusing Obama of sitting on the sidelines during bipartisan debt talks, Christie said, “If that’s your attitude, Mr. President, what the hell are we paying you for?”
The stark contrast between then and now demonstrated how the bond nurtured by the odd couple after Hurricane Sandy has unraveled — and been replaced by a feud between two politicians who no longer stand to benefit from the appearance of a close partnership.
At the root of recent tension is a disagreement about relief for New Jersey residents affected by the hurricane, which hit in October 2012. Christie in recent days has blamed Obama and his administration for getting in the way of help reaching the state.
Christie’s frustration has become a theme of his town-hall meetings, and he has called FEMA — the Federal Emergency Management Agency — the “new F-word.”

Maybe Christie should ask the Russians to invade NJ. He might be able to get rid of Trenton and at the same time get billions in aid, like Ukraine did. A win-win.

This is just the Washington Post trying to make Christie palatable to conservatives. They know another North Eastern, squishy Republican will lose, again.
Fox News is pushing Christie too, but they're doing so because they toe the GOPe line and they actually think, wrongly, that Christie can win.
And Christie with that one photo gave legitimacy to obozo and helped him look presidential about a month before the election.

My biggest WTF is that the good people of NY and NJ didn’t riot when the underhanded, overwhelmed local power crews REJECTED non union QUALIFIED help.

The LSM is going to do to Christie what they did to Romney, i.e. puff him up during the primaries and diss everyone else, then once he's won the nomination, drop the hammer on him.
Romney pre-nomination: Kiss kiss, we like Mitt.
Post nomination: Dog on car roof, meany scalper in private school, Baine worker wife killer, offshore millions, etc.
Christie pre-nomination: Works well with Obama, blue collar populist, take charge no-nonsense leader.
Post nomination: Arrogant bully, Gov. Thug, ~ Sept. '16 indictments unsealed, Special Prosecuter named.

I don’t know why so many on FR are bent out of shape about Christie’s having hugged Obama and thus supposedly helped Obama win. Those same Freepers wanted Romney to lose also, so all those Freepers should have been high fiving Christie for having facilitated Romney’s political demise.
