The State of Connecticut says that all citizens must register rifles and high capacity magazines, or be charged will a felony. As many as 100,000 people could face heavily armed police smashing down their doors and be charged with a felony.
The legislature of CT says that a registration is needed so they can know where the guns are. Yet at the same time, they are sending threatening letters to gun owners. So they already have records of who has purchased certain guns. The fact is, that the CT legislature fully intends to confiscate hundreds of thousands of firearms anyway......

Kev, I can only assume by that response that you believe the JBTs would find nothing, then leave you in peace to go about your business. In other words, you still trust that those who would do the tyrants' bidding, still have enough humanity and civility left in them to respect you and your God given rights as an American citizen.
I don't think so, Kev. Any officer of the state who takes it upon themselves to participate in violating the 2nd Amendment rights of the people, has made a conscious choice to cross over to being an enemy of the basic precepts this country was founded upon (which, by the way, are universal - and apply to all mankind).
The very act of violating your individual sovereignty to perform a search for weapons that the elites (politicians) have deemed to be threatening (to them), is cause enough to label these people for what they really are -- enemies of the people.
I hope you don't believe that life would go on as normal, once you're on their list. If they're willing to go that far, they're willing to do a whole lot more, which is sort of the reason for keeping that 'illegal' rifle anyway.

go ahead. Get in your car and go and refresh that tree with your own blood. Show us you are real.
So shall we all get in our cars and drive to CT to stand with our compatriots now? Are you? Or do you expect only those hapless citizens in CT to do the bleeding for your revolution? If youre not getting in your car RIGHT NOW then your words are hollow.
get in your car and drive to CT to generate that reassessment. Urging others to do so is a form of keyboard cowardice.

Outbursts of emotional mocking and taunting do nothing to bolster your argument, Kev. Those are schoolyard dares, not mature arguments.
Agreed. That’s the rule.
Ah, yes, the “big tent” Republican. Why not use your own analogy? Stick your giant head into the tent, pour in a lot of stuff (sand, oat meal, whatever) to cover it up and then no one will have to listen to your never-ending droning.
Just trying to be helpful, son.

***Those officers of the state are carrying out their orders. To do otherwise would jeopardize their cushy jobs. And most of those officers don’t know crap about the constitution.
The very act of violating your individual sovereignty to perform a search for weapons that the elites (politicians) have deemed to be threatening (to them), is cause enough to label these people for what they really are — enemies of the people.
***You can label them whatever you want. The moment you take up arms against them, you are risking your own life. The question on the table is: Is now the right time for someone to give up their own life in the fight against tyranny? It appears from the comments on this thread that many freepers do think it is the time, but ONLY for those poor souls who happen to live in CT and own newly illegal guns and won’t bury them in the back yard. I don’t see ANY freepers jumping into their truck to engage on the front lines of such a rebellion.
I hope you don’t believe that life would go on as normal, once you’re on their list.
***I know it wouldn’t. And at this point I would say that anyone in any US state who has never owned a gun and is considering buying one, they should not register that gun. They end up on the list, painting a target on their forehead.
If they’re willing to go that far, they’re willing to do a whole lot more, which is sort of the reason for keeping that ‘illegal’ rifle anyway.
***JBTs are willing to do what they’re told, and they will show up to confiscate your guns AS LONG AS THERE IS A DOZEN OTHERS alongside them.
Outbursts of emotional mocking and taunting do nothing to bolster your argument, Kev. Those are schoolyard dares, not mature arguments.
***They make the point. You aren’t getting into your car, and neither are thousands of other keyboard warriors so willing to spill Connecticut gun owners’ blood. And you might want to look through this thread to key up on those others who aren’t using “mature” arguments. You will find the vast majority of your scolding will be against those whom you agree with. So, is “maturity” really what you’re talking about? No, not really.
Looks like someone pissed in your cornflakes today. Maybe you shouldn’t put your cornflakes in the bathroom and write on the side: “Anyone who pisses in my cornflakes will have to answer to me!!! ARrrrgh.”
Just tryin’ to be helpful, gramps. Oh, and on that note, you might pull your own giant head out from where it currently is.
What kind off mentality was that..? Is that where we're at in our country today..?? We're talking about burying our guns in the backyard because a couple of cops have come our door..! IT'S WE THAT SURROUND THEM..!! the only thing WE must do is make them know and understand that...
Talk to your neighbor...get to know him, and let him get to know you... We'll not win this war by ourselves...! Go out into the community and organize...And keep it LOCAL...for security's sake... Five or six rednecks with a good attitude (and a couple of AK's) can put up one hell of a fuss....
outbursts of emotional...
***This is the Manichean/Mencken fallacy
One of the axioms utilized by H.L. Mencken in analyzing politics in the
United States stated that Americans were unable to grasp arguments on their
face and instead needed them recast in pure Manichean terms, with the most
repellent of devils on one side and the purest of angels on the other.
Ive seen this axiom come into play on various debates including right
here. It is disheartening to see this logical fallacy lent credulity. But
it is human nature, and moderators are drawn from the cloth of human nature
as are we all.
“Oh, and on that note,...”
And on that note, I will exit this thread and not return. You are no challenge at all and, to quote Texas Ranger La Boeuf in “True Grit”, “You’ve done nothing when you’ve bested a fool”, so I won’t waste any more of my time with you. Good luck digging up those guns when the SHTF.
And on that note, I will exit this thread and not return.
***Don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.
I’m not going to get into an interminable jousting match with you, Kev. I just think you’re stuck in the position of having to defend your original statement, wherein you advocated hiding ones ‘illegal’ guns from the JBTs.
You ought to know by now that posting, “bury your guns”, is going to start a bar brawl here. You’re not the only person who made that suggestion on this thread, and every one who did, got hit with a counter barrage of comments.
I read most of what you posted in your replies, and I don’t disagree with all of it. On the face of it, it doesn’t appear that you’re trying to get others to stand down to tyranny, but it seems you’re over-thinking the thing to me.
You want to talk about organizing, tactics, communications, strategizing, etcetera, which is all fine and good, but we live in an imperfect world, and people probably won’t be so prepared as that, when and if the SHTF.
Each individual needs to ponder what they’d do if the JBTs suddenly showed up in force in their neighborhood to do something this drastic. Granted, a lot of folks would stand down and relinquish their ‘illegal’ weapons. Some would get the heads up and hide them as you suggest. Then there are those who would see such a heinous act for what it is, and respond as our forefathers did.
I just think youre stuck in the position of having to defend your original statement, wherein you advocated hiding ones illegal guns from the JBTs.
***that’s “newly illegal”. And I’ll defend my statement. I’m not “stuck in the position”.
You ought to know by now that posting, bury your guns, is going to start a bar brawl here.
***I would suspect as much if someone were to say, “hand ‘em over because they’re illegal guns and the cops are always right”. But to defend “bar brawl” level rhetoric over a perfectly valid tactic of living to fight another day is... well, the same kind of “emotional outburst” baloney that you were chiding upthread.
Youre not the only person who made that suggestion on this thread, and every one who did, got hit with a counter barrage of comments.
***Yes, it is noticeable. What a bunch of keyboard commando armchair wannabe videogame warriors — “here, you go and risk your life in fighting tyranny while I sit in my comfy chair and direct you.”
it seems youre over-thinking the thing to me.
***”bury your guns in the back yard” is over-thinking it? Now it’s starting to sound like you’re the one “stuck in the position of defending” your statement.
keyboard commando armchair wannabe videogame warriors
perhaps should be rearranged to
videogame armchair keyboard commando wannabe warriors
for the acronym

Good grief. I feel like I’m arguing with an adolescent.
You’re right. I’m wrong. Feel better now?
By the way, your formatting on replies sucks. It’s almost impossible to read.
If its time to bury them, it’s time to dig them up.
