In his job as Apple CEO, Tim Cook is mostly known for having a demeanor that's in some ways antithetical to that of Steve Jobs. Instead of bombast and bold claims, Cook's soothing Southern-tinged speech and steely temperament have marked him as a man whose head could be nothing but level. That is, unless you're a shareholder who thinks climate change is bogus.

Apple stock should be shorted based on the fact that they are repeating the same mistakes with Google that they made with Microsoft. It’s going to be the 80s all over again.

Tim Cook is clearly not a critical thinker. He appears to be a magical thinker.

To me gay marriage and global warming do fit together in the same anti truth, anti logic, anti reason, rationalize and justify your wants as indisputable “science” thinking

Yup.
And what she has to do with hip tech, or business, I have no idea.
Seems like they’re stacking the board with posturing clowns who will vote the way management wants them to.

Not exactly what he said... AAPL has been pursuing sustainability efforts for quite a while. One reason why their latest data center is powered largely solar power. The conservative group was complaining about AAPL pursuing those sorts of sustainability efforts. Cook said “To any who found the company’s environmental dedication either ideologically or economically ill-advised, they can “get out of the stock,”
Pretty reasonable comment. If you don’t like it. Don’t invest. Pretty simple.

To compare Cook to Ron Johnson is just plain stupid.

Funny we seem to be living in a parallel dimension with people living in a virtual reality...we can interact with them but they seem to behave in crazy ways...they seem to have no point of reference save for their collective delusion and are very honest in they believe reality is just a delusional, a construct as they call it, and are honest about they will make their reality construct whatever the wish

After your response to me re: Cook/Johnson I actually read the above, and some of the body of the story. It doesn't look like Cook refers to "Climate-change deniers".
Apple was attacked a few years ago as being least environmentally friendly a few years ago, which probably struck a chord with some of their best customers (not us). Any competitive business cannot be expected to just ignore tax incentives in whatever manner they come.
Wind and solar aren't evil, they are just ordinarily niche applications, so there is no moral dimension to this particular business decision of Apple's.
The decision to build the new Mac Pro in the U.S. was probably in part also spurred by political customer opinion considerations.

I have never understood how Rush can be such an Apple fanboy. This is one of the worst left-wing companies out there after GE.Rush's praise of Apple products got me to try out a Mac ... and I have never looked back.
The difference between Microsoft's products and Apple's is like night and day. (I don't use iPhones or iPods, but the MacBook beats every other laptop I've used. And forget about Windows, it makes me want to grab a bat and smash things a la Office Space.)
Sadly, the companies that make these products are all headed by leftists, so I can hardly "make a difference" with my purchasing dollars.

I recall back when there was such furor over the polar icecaps melting there was a single report that the polar icecaps on Mars were also melting... What an amazing coincidence! I only saw that report once... I guess that since there was no way to blame the Martian icecaps melting on American SUVs and coal powered power plants, it wasn't worth reporting. Especially since that would mean that "global warming" (that's how it was named back then) might be caused by some outside source... Like the sun.

You are right.
No more build it and they will come.
More like we will build it and then tell you how you should live.
And it’s so widespread now. From Apple (and of course Microsoft) to GMC (Gay Marriage Cars) to the NFL...it’s all just so insidious and filth-ridden.
It’s a wonder to me that there are still some forty-odd percent of us out here believing in God and Country, against the prevailing tides.

Apple is run by leftists, sure, but when running their business and counting that money they’re the biggest right-wingers you’ve ever met. No fuzzy thinking when watching over/counting the moolah!

I have never understood how Rush can be such an Apple fanboy. This is one of the worst left-wing companies out there after GE.You seem to insinuate that Microsoft, by comparison, is some kinds of conservative paradise. Not so. In fact, Bill Gates (with his wife Melinda) is more of an activist for left-wing causes than Steve Jobs ever was. In fact, I would consider Steve Jobs more of a libertarian than a liberal.

Where is the class action lawsuit when we need it? This is an admission that he is not acting in the interests of stockholders. It would be a great case, especially if you could make it about whether a businessman is able to know the facts necessary to judge whether his actions have any impact on the earth. He would have to testify, could be shown to be an idiot, and most likely, Apple would pay a lot to settle the case and pay off the attorneys before it went very far. It would be fun.
