Russia needs them to be one country that they control because of the pipeline network traversing the entire country. Somebody on FR posted the pipeline map and that one graphic did indeed explain the entire affair.
Then again....how many Canadian pipelines feed our country??
Excellent observation. Anyone else remember too, that Syria was the proposed route for the new Gulf-sourced NG pipeline to Western Europe?. Putey played hard to keep that under his thumb too. This man knows his priorities.
