Those pipelines to the EU are the source of Russia’s wealth and power. Now, if we drilled here and built more refineries we’d be positioned to profit handsomely from this. Drilling here and exporting would change the face of world politics more than fighting in each NE country that wants to destroy us.

False. Russia has several other pipelines: one in the Baltics, another theroug Poland, a third throuh the Balkan countries and a forth to Turkey. Only 33% of Russian gaz pass through Ukraine, which depends on it for 80% of its energy. Anger Putin more, and he will shut down the gaz, leaving Ukraine in the dark and stand still.
