It’s for peoples “safety.”
It’s the 21st century. Only backward knuckle dragging conspiracy theorists that are anti-progress and government think that people need guns as part of a checks and balance or self defense. Come on guys, we all know that when things get ugly, law enforcement that has wives and children of their own can be counted on (Katrina, LA riots...) We all know that in today’s world, government can be trusted and the notion that people need guns as part of some control mechanism over government is antiquated (IRS targeting of political opponents to administration, Watergate, gun free zones that have become the playground for the crazies...).
Just remember Boston...where people were questioned at gunpoint, where Marshall Law was in place, where our military drove through the streets and knocked on doors threatening everyone.
