At a time of escalated tensions with the West over Ukraine, Russia says it is negotiating with eight governments around the world for access to military facilities, to enable it to extend its long-range naval and strategic bomber capabilities.
Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Wednesday the military was engaged in talks with Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Algeria, Cyprus, the Seychelles, Vietnam and Singapore.
We need bases for refueling near the equator, and in other places, ITAR-Tass quoted him as saying.
Russia is not looking to establish bases in those locations, but to reach agreement to use facilities there when required.
The countries are all strategically located in three leftist-ruled countries close to the U.S.; towards either end of the Mediterranean; in the Indian Ocean south of the Gulf of Aden; and near some of the worlds most important shipping lanes in the Malacca Strait and South China Sea.

Looks to me like they're getting their ducks in a row for something bigger than the Ukraine ...

With a defense budget of $90bn, I think the Russians are better at talking up their capabilities than anything else.

While Obama and Hagel are busy cutting our military the most since before World War II, Putin is busy rebuilding and modernizing Russia. What a lot of Americans don't realize is that many in Russia don't feel that the collapse of the Soviet Union meant they lost the Cold War as much as suffered a temporary setback, and are more than willing for a rematch.

I’m just wondering now how Obama is gonna tell us all now how Russia didn’t cross his line in the Ukraine and everything is hunky dory.....or how Kerry is such a fricking idiot he has all the Muslim world making fun of him.
I pity our military that now has to make good on Obama’s mouth.

If zero was a programmed KGB agent sent to destroy us from the highest levels of power what would he do differently than what he’s been doing?
I can’t figure out if he’s simply a communist, or getting us ready for a muslim takeover or what.
But the really shocking thing is that the rat party goes along with this - apparently not a patriot in the whole party.

With a defense budget of $90bn, I think the Russians are better at talking up their capabilities than anything else. Are those American dollars? Wonder what they'll be worth compared to Russia's nukes, gold, oil, and leaderships' willingness to fight?
We just busted below 80 on the dollar index:
And the gold manipulation doesn't seem to be working today, I might even see the tiniest of upticks:

Exactly.
This is the Rent-A-Center approach to international force projection.

I read a few days ago that O had drawn another ‘red line’. I guess you quickly took out his eraser, since his MSM lewinskys haven’t said anymore about it...
