First lady Michelle Obama has shown this week shes got the muscle to make big things happen.
Shes been no stranger to advocacy efforts that back her husbands policy goals, from encouraging Americans to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act to nudging major corporations to hire military spouses.
But the first lady and her office had largely avoided playing a major role in the process of crafting federal policy focusing on partnerships with foundations and corporations, rather than on regulations and interagency coordination.
Until now.
On Tuesday, she and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack unveiled new federal standards for food marketing to children that she played a central role in bringing to fruition. And on Thursday, the Food and Drug Administration released proposed regulations on nutrition labels that were more than a decade in the making.
The first lady and her office were key to pushing through both sets of policies, lobbyists, advocates and administration officials say....

Her Mother has raised her kids so far, guess she will continue and see them through college..maybe BO and MO will check in on them on occasion...ya think?

How did we manage to become such a powerful nation without the brilliant advice of people like Moochelle Obama. The simple act of grocery shopping has crippled women for generations apparently. I remember the days of my mother attempting to shop and she was literally in the fetal position sobbing uncontrollably deciding against Rice Krispies or Cheerios because she couldn’t understand the labels. The produce aisle was even worse because nothing had labels. It got so bad we had her committed to Bedlam Sanitarium for shopping related PTSD.
