16.25 Our correspondent in Simferopol, Roland Oliphant, says Russian troops have moved into Crimea in what Moscow is calling a mission to “protect Black Sea Fleet’s positions”

15.50 BREAKING: The Russian foreign ministry has admitted that armoured units from the Black Sea Fleet base near Sevastopol had entered Crimea in order to protect fleet positions.

The Ukrainian side was also passed a note regarding the movement of armoured vehicles of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea, which is happening in full accordance with the foundation Russian-Ukrainian agreements on the Black Sea Fleet,” the ministry said in a statement posted on its website on Friday afternoon.

In the same note the Russian foreign ministry said it had declined a Ukrainian request for “bilateral consultations” on events in Crimea because they are “the result of recent internal political processes in Ukraine.”

The US under zer0’s regime is 5x the communist regime than Russia.

We must wake up to that fact and work on taking care of removing our own Iron Curtain. And let the Russians, Crimea and the Ukraine work this out for themselves.

Nobody even seems to care about the fact that he gave Iraq back to Al Qaeda, or gave Egypt to the Muslim Brotherhood, or is allowing Iran to get nukes. I sincerely doubt the MSM or any of the US public cares (or even has a clue about any of it) what happens in the Ukraine.

Obama got his tough talk on video and that pretty much wraps up his involvement. If things go south from here, the MSM will go mum on the topic and we'll be back to celebrating our gayness instead.

Yup.

Only two possible outcomes. Split the country in half or live under Russian control.

I’m not really wasting a whole lot of time thinking about it. We’ve got far bigger problems right here.

Russia wants to keep the Crimean ports. Europe wants the Russian gas. This could get messy. Russia will NOT give up the sea ports.

Doing nothing, for Ukraine, is a violation of treaty. The Budapest Memorandum, signed by Bill Clinton, John Major, Boris Yeltsin and Leonid Kuchma – the then-rulers of the USA, UK, Russia and Ukraine – the treaty promises to uphold the territorial integrity of Ukraine, in return for Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons.

Putin will be he most powerful nation on the earth in a few years. They will reclaim the Ukraine in short order and he knows that King Obama is a child like piece of garbage and the most ignorant President America ever had. Say goodbye to America, we are now a communists nation heading to third world status.

I'm wondering what is the backing of those "freedom fighters". It does not seem that anyone wants to get involved with defending them.

If the EU embraces their tactics, what's to stop protestors in places like Greece from doing the same thing to get rid of the EU?

Greece had its current government installed by the IMF and Goldman Sachs. If the Greek people rebel the EU will send in troops and shoot them in the streets.

They have a Naval Base in Crimea. Of course they’re going to protect it.

I’m not sure that memo applies to this event. If it does, it seems that Nato has something to say first. At present, it appears to be a civil war.

ITV: Russian soldiers ‘surround Ukraine border guard base’

http://www.itv.com/news/update/2014-02-28/russian-soldiers-surround-ukraine-border-guard-base/

U.S. Media pretty much ignoring these events. Are they afraid covering it might make King Obama and the Democrats look bad?

I’m not surprised Russia has acted. I just did not anticipate it would happen this soon.
