LYNN HAVEN, Fla. General Dynamics has sent letters to 730 of its employees at the ObamaCare call facility that they are being laid off. That's about half of the workforce at the facility in the old SalleMae facility at the Lynn Haven Industrial park.
U.S. Rep. Steve Southerland, II of Panama City says the loss of 730 Bay County jobs is a stark reminder of Americas transformation into a part-time, short-term society.
The Congressman told NewsChannel 7, " I am saddened that these hardworking men and women are paying the price for the Obama administrations unyielding pursuit of a job-crushing, Washington-first agenda that has made private sector job growth more difficult by the day. With nearly 80% of new jobs representing part-time opportunities, we must do better to restore the certainty that these 730 Northwest Floridians deserved from the start.
Free at last! Free at last! Now they can all stay home and write poetry!
All sarcasm aside, another link on the page had more details. This is odd;
Last summer, Workforce Service Career Source partnered with General Dynamics to hire more than 1,400 employees for their call center in Lynn Haven."Some of those were supervisors and managers, but a vast majority of those were customer service representatives," said Maria Goodwin, Director for the Workforce Service Career Source.
The reps helped people with questions regarding the Affordable Health Care, otherwise known as Obamacare.
The news of the layoffs comes as a surprise, seeing that just two weeks ago General Dynamics held a job fair to hire additional customer service representatives.
‘Dead Beats’ (in first /sarc)
Woo hoo.
Unemployed Obamacare call center workers.
That right there’s funny, I don’t care who you are.
If they are at least seeking and taking a job, even for GD working deathcare, what makes them deadbeats? Now they are out looking again and on the dole so what does that do for the economy?

Free at last, Free at last!
Nancy Pelosi says, Unemployment checks are the fastest way to create jobs.
Of course that was voted the ‘Stupidest Quote of 2010’
I was starting a cottage industry of “Tucking my Kid into Bed,” but my 25 year old son and his wife objected. Now I’m out of work again.
You wouldn’t believe the extremes that the FR ‘Dead Beats’ crowd go. Me I witness it. Watch some of the threads and you will see it. As I have posted before there are the poor and the unfortunate and then there are the slothful, but some FReepers have hearts so harden they can no longer tell the difference.
If those effected by this layoff voted/vote LIB/DIM... Bwahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
She was very polite and helpful. Also honest about the fact the telephone staff couldn't really help somebody access healthcare.gov.
As a consequence of the interview, she was fired. And Hannity recruited her a new employer in the Panama City area at about twice her old salary.
She worked at the Lynn Haven call center.
ObamaCare call center?
I remember when general Dynamics built F-16s and Submarines.
It’s a whole new transformed country out there.
I would love to have worked 30 years for one company, then retired like my Dad and Granddad did. Instead, the longest I have worked for any company is 7 years. Most has been my fault via looking for better opportunities, but still, it makes me a little sad.
Twenty-five years in one place (the rest was some time spent in the military and now some part time jobs in retirement) is not always that great - I had the kind of position where I didn’t have a lot of choices where I worked, especially if I wanted to remain in one geographic location - so had to put up with and endure a lot of bad conditions - incompetent management, devious supervisors, bad publicity for the company, venomous co-workers - a couple of times I started to apply for positions elsewhere, but eventually lasted through the unpleasantness - it isn’t always as glamorous as it may seem.....
She may have been polite but she broke company policy. We were told in training not to talk to media and we even signed a waiver that we can’t talk to media. Our instructions tell us to escalate those calls to our advanced resolution center. Her being fired was legit. But good for her. Maybe she is making more money now.
