Riot police in Ukraine fell to their knees to ask for forgiveness for their colleagues who shot and beat antigovernment protesters in the recent Kiev massacre. The extraordinary scenes in Lviv involved the Berkut elite anti-riot force whose members had returned from duty in the capital. They apologised on a stage in front of pro-Europe protesters.

So because one person is breaking the law its ok to shoot everyone?
You must admire Stalin for his judgement.
Its not self defense. Its murder and typical behavior for totalitarian governments.
I can’t figure out why you are supporting the communists.
When a MOB is about to attack me or my family, YES it is ok to shoot them all.
It’s called self defense.
This “mob” was protesting the forced move to the old USSR style govt. This is the Ukraine. Millions of them have been killed by communism. THEY were the ones defending their lives.
Again, why are you identifying so closely with communists?
lol
I am not supporting the communists, this is 2014 the soviet union is long gone and Russia in many ways is now more free than the US is under Obama totalitarian regime/police state.
The closest thing to communists in this fight are those murdering rioters.
The cold war is over, get over it. The enemy is now within.
Correct. Until they turn in the bad apples in their ranks, then they have no honor and deserve no forgiveness, any of them. Even the ones who did not participate in the killing spree.
I defer to your superior knowledge. Apparently you were there.
What you conveniently leave out is that the “mob” in Ukraine didn’t throw any fire bombs until the police on Nov 30 at 4am attacked and brutally beat the seven hundred protesters.
“The police attacked not only the protesters (most of whom didn’t or failed to put up resistance) but also other civilians in the vicinity of Maidan Nezalezhnosti, when the Berkut forces chased unarmed people several hundreds of meters and continued to beat them with batons and feet.[33] Initially, 35 people were injured as a result of the militia raid, including a Reuters cameraman and a photographer.[34][35] Other protesters were detained.[32] Most of protesters were students.[35]”
If the Ukrainian leader was such a monster... why didn't he just call out the military and clear the streets in minutes like the Chinese did a Tienanmen square?
Alaska Wolf ping...
ok... so in your world it’s ok to burn police alive if they force rioters back using a minimum of force to protect innocent civilians in the area and maintain order?
And once they rioters started burning the police alive, the police are not allowed to fight deadly force with deadly force?
Heck! here in America little kids can’t even answer their door holding a wii controller without getting gunned down by the police, but in Ukraine apparently they have to allow themselves to get burnt alive without using deadly force.
Putin certainly agrees with you as he kills a couple more opponents.
Minor? It was a decision to rejoin the USSR or move to a western form. The EU agreement isn’t all that great but certainly better then having all exports withheld on a whim, like Putin has done before.
Watch the videos before you say nonsense such as “minimum force”. The police beat the shit out of the peaceful protesters even putting a reuters cameraman in the hospital. That is what outraged Ukrainians.
Not even close.
The USSR went belly up in 1991, I have no idea what you are talking about.
Yanukovych simply choose not to sign a trade agreement with the European Union. Likely because Russia might have retaliated with trade sanctions. Sort of like the US is threatening now with Nigeria over their crackdown on sodomites.
how did that work for those claiming the same in Nuremberg? Just like most criminals after they're caught, they are always sorry.
He tried to do that but a whole lot of the police and military stood with the fathers of families and women and children who were being picked off by cowardly snipers hiding in buildings.
