The first housing development designed specifically for low-income seniors in the LGBT community had its official opening today in center city Philadelphia. The John C. Anderson Apartments, at 249 South 13th Street, was temporarily swathed in rainbow-colored banners ---SNIP--- Bill Lowden, who used to live in Northern Liberties because he couldnt afford to live in whats commonly called the gayborhood, now lives in the heart of Philadelphias gay community and he loves it.

Separate but equal?
Aren’t they just like everyone else?
I’m almost afraid to ask, but just how do I demonstrate my qualification for this taxpayer=paid free housing?
Arizona - an EVIL place because it may give the right to people to CHOOSE not to serve homosexuals in their private businesses...
Philly - A WONDERFUL and progressive place place because it uses taxpayer money to build housing to blatantly discriminate against people who are not gay.
ah my birthplace.....
just the visuals of strolling down the street here.
ugh
I guess that is no problem.
When it comes time “WE” can check into the Straight/White/Male Friendly unit - wherever that may be located???
I am sure ACLU will be investigating this.
Lets check back in ... say ... five years.
Is homo lifestyle increasing exponentially, or are they just coming out of the closet?
They just don't feel comfortable around your (normal) kind. ;)
I bet a lot of those units will get rented out at market level prices.
Do they get separate water fountains too?
How is this legal?
It seems to me that the ACLU should be all over this. There are no seniors homes set aside for purely heterosexual seniors and it is unfair that heterosexual seniors have no place to call their own! This is obviously a case of discrimination against heterosexual seniors, based on their sexual orientation. The ACLU needs to address this issue post-haste and ensure that heterosexual couples get access to housing specifically designed for their needs!
How do you prove you’re homosexual? Never mind - I don’t want to know.
No, they're better.
Aren't you paying attention?
Gross.
Isn’t that discriminatory? I mean, that is all we hear when the LGBTQI agitators who are offended by anyone who doesn’t bow to their behavior.
