I don’t think pot is covered by food stamp cards, but by the time the left gets done with Colorado, it probably will be.
During the first month of Colorados experiment with legal marijuana, welfare beneficiaries withdrew thousands of dollars in public-assistance cash from ATMs at weed shops, according to records obtained by National Review Online.
At least 64 times, public-assistance benefits were accessed at businesses selling marijuana. A total of $5,475 in public benefits was withdrawn at ATMs in establishments that sell pot.
The amounts withdrawn ranged from $20 to $400, averaging $85.55, according to the transaction records. In Colorado, the average household receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits includes one adult and two children, and the maximum monthly benefit for them is $462.
Colorado lawmakers recently failed to pass legislation that would have prohibited EBT withdrawals at retail marijuana shops, medical-marijuana dispensaries, and strip clubs.
When we passed Amendment 64 to legalize marijuana, the main mantra of the campaign was, Legalize marijuana like alcohol, Representative Dan Nordberg, a Republican from Colorado Springs, tells NRO. But the bill was killed in the state senate, party line. Truth be told, you would think this is common sense, yet Ive still not received a straight answer for why [Colorados Democrats] killed our bill and think its okay for welfare beneficiaries to withdraw public benefits in pot shops and strip clubs.
Because that’s why they vote for Colorado Democrats in the first place.
Hey, a guaranteed customer base!..........................
Well, it is an herb that can be used as a condiment.
Medicinal marijuana means someone else can pay for your stash.
So, if it’s “medical” marijuana, shouldn’t it be covered under Obamacare?
Public benefit cards allow cash withdrawals?? Are we nuts?
Some Girl Scout made a cookie sales killing by setting up shop just outside a pot shop the other day.
It’s so they don’t have to exert themselves going to the mailbox to get their welfare check and then make a trip to the bank to cash it, etc...
Too much burden.
Now we just credit their EBT cards with cash. And better yet, it looks just like a debit/credit card so there’s no “stigma” associated with using it!
The Golden Rule of Business Success:
Find a need and fill it!.............................
As Pfc. Gomer Pyle used to say:”Surprise,Surprise”!!!!
This was part of the quid pro quo of the so-called "welfare reform" enacted during the Clinton Administration.
And, yes, nobody should be shocked that when we let people withdraw their welfare cash from ATM machines, that some of these machines are going to be located in casinos, cruise ships, brothels, bars, Disney World and now pot shops.
As they say, "Don't hate the player. Hate the game!"
And nobody in this government saw that this was coming? Just like nobody saw coming the over 300% rise in accidents while HWD (HIGH WHILE DRIVING. This is what happens when you pass stupid laws. You never look for or expect all these unintended consequences. Hell, nobody has to come in shooting while we are being invaded, they’ll just step over us while we are on a HIGH.
A question that’s mostly on topic here. Can anyone answer a couple of questions concerning the sale of pot in Colorado and Washington state.
In general:
Who can legally sell pot in those states?
And who can legally buy it?
Or does anyone have a link that addresses those questions. I did read that in Colorado an invidual can grow six plants for personal use, but haven’t seen any decent summary of who can sell it and who can buy it.
HA HA hahaha HAAAA hahaaa.
What are they going to do when they get the munchies?
Eat the cat?
Just a little wealth spreading.
When they become schizophrenic or bipolar are they allowed to sign up twice?

This is just more proof of how a rat controlled state/county or city wastes tax money to support their druggie scumy voters.
Smart Girls Scouts and their parents are putting the kids out in front of so called medical pot stores, selling Girl Scout Cookies. They are doing great.
Using EBT cards to buy pot really angers me. This is remote armed robbery to get stoned. Vote for demorats, get free dope.
Meanwhile, the pot shops cannot get bank accounts. They are swimming in cash. So a legal business cannot get legal bank service, while welfare slugs get our money on demand at an atm.
“They are swimming in cash”
For a business, that is a nice problem to have.
An average withdrawal of $85 will buy a lot of Cheetos. What we need here is a First Lady nutrition campaign. “Put down the Ho-Ho, dude, and eat a stick of celery!” It’s for the children.
Government income redistribution disgusts me, but I find this particularly disgusting.
