U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power tweeted early Monday morning that, “Daniel Pearl’s story is reminder that individual accountability & reconciliation are required to break cycles of violence.”
Pearl is the Wall Street Journal reporter who was abducted in Pakistan four months after Sept. 11, 2001. Al-Qaida leader Khalid Sheikh Mohammed slit Pearl’s throat and sawed his head off on camera, after forcing the reporter to read that “My name is Daniel Pearl. I’m a Jewish American from Encino, California, U.S.A. … My father’s Jewish, my mother’s Jewish, I’m Jewish. My family follows Judaism. We’ve made numerous family visits to Israel.”
Pearl was 38.

Seems to me acknowledging ones faith before having your head chopped off constitutes individual accountability. Once your head is chopped off, reconciliation is difficult. Samantha might not know that since she still has her head, filled with who knows what. As to breaking cycles of violence, probably better to make the terrorists take individual responsibility rather than the victims. Isn't that what her boss' drones are for

Meanwhile those who have lived under it (as in Egypt and the Ukraine) have had violent uprisings to remove it. This was years ago Pearl was murdered I am not sure what Powers point today is but is seems like most liberals, she is living in her hated past.
Its not at all bizarre for her to anyone who has paid attention. She hates Israel and Jews.
You're right that is the best one, but why even mention Daniel Pearl, unless she is trying to say it's okay for Muslims to kill Jews. America doesn't care. It must have been Daniel Pearl's fault, he had his head cut off.
