As if it isnt enough we have to battle BOTH parties to keep tens of millions of illegal invaders from being handed amnesty, we also have to fight just to maintain our common language. And as with the La Raza Studies battle in Tucson, Arizona is once again the battlefield.
An Arizona college is being sued for labeling a student a bigot and punishing her with a long-term suspension after she requested that English be used in her nursing studies class so she could learn the subject.
The action was filed against Pima Community College on behalf of student Terri Bennett, who alleged that school officials created a learning environment [that] was hostile to her as an English-language speaker.
The case will proceed to trial in March.

No, it won’t sort itself out. English will give way with that attitude so typical around here.
The kids I know want to get out of discriminatory Texas so fast, and they will, as they are not the ones getting the scholarships. They are not the right ethnicity.
Si, El Guapo!
You’re from Maryland. Easy for you to say.
You need to spend time in a border state, if you can’t imagine by now, what’s going on.
Can’t Americans figure out that if it’s easy for us to accommodate tens of millions of illegal Mexican immigrants by learning their culture as they won’t ever give a rat about our culture, laws, language and borders, that it’s easy for them to learn English?
Are we that wimpy?
Not quite! May be you need to do more research.
Even Wikipedia says, "República de Texas) was an independent sovereign nation in North America."

...I have yet to meet a frenchman that doesn’t speak a little bit of german....
I don’t care who you are that’s funny!
you forgot -how much do I have to pay to bribe you-cuanto questa la mordida?
You don’t know anything about the subject we were on and are now finished with
I speak four languages, learned two in high school, taught my kids languages when they were toddlers, as all other countries do, at the time of language absorption, the reason most Europeans know many languages and speak them with little accent
It’s easy for them, it’s easy for us and its easy for immigrants except illegal ones who have no motivation as they’re getting the chamber of commerce to hand them anything they desire
If you haven’t been to Europe but claim to know what goes on there without even reading about it like many Americans I can tell you you might want to get informed. You’ll find out they don’t give up their language border nor culture. Not to Americans not to anyone. We think they’re snobs Not many Americans I know enjoy France they refuse to speak one word of French. I speak French when I’m there. The same Americans demand that I speak a language other than English in my country. And they, including you and your nastiness exemplifies my point, are as nasty to the French for not speaking English in France as they are to me for not speaking a different language in my country
I admire the French for not being stupid and naive about their language and culture as Americans are about their own
Have lived in numerous countries and have learned to speak the native language when appropriate, have worked with many different language speakers and teach the value of knowing other languages in my work as a teacher
So you can get off the horse and go stay in a border state for a few months and find out what’s happening to this country from this point of view and go back to Pennsylvania and tell them what is happening
I suggest learning Mandarin Chinese.
>> But there is no way I am learning another language to get along in my own country,
Understatement of the Century.
We’re being Balkanized, subverted, subjugated, and pissed on...
I completely support personal growth in education, foreign language, etc, but I don’t support having my existence altered for the benefit of an invading interest. And the native scumbags facilitating this encroachment deserve a hard but legitimate lesson.
Been a fun thread, where to start! My first wife of 35 years was half Mexican and half German raised in Weimer Texas, try that for a language combination. I’ve been here in West Texas for almost 64 years with over 40 of those years spent working the oilfields of the Permian Basin. The German I’ve learned hasn’t helped much but the Spanish sure has and always gave me an advantage over the non Spanish speaking hands. Learned a little Vietnamese also but that was from another time and another land. Funny thing is I never reall tried to learn the language it was just a part of life growing up here in West texas.
I wish it was that easy. There's more versions of Spanish than words that Eskimos have for snow after AlGore's "Global Warming Winter Vortex"...
And every Spanish speaking nation will have people who tell you "We speak TRUE CASTELLANO..." Good grief, don't get drawn into that battle...lol!
SNAP!
Good one JR!
Were her civil rights not violated? I would sue them to prove that they were not. The language of this country is ENGLISH. Unless the class description prior to enrollment specifically stated the class would be in a language other than English, I fell she has a case.
People who support this invasion for personal gain are not right
It is worse than obamacare. And citizens, certain businessmen, and wimpy, uninformed, principle-less people support it, buying into the propaganda that if they don’t they are racist.
Look at the hate filled responses the name calling my position gets on this post
You think any illegal alien is getting that? I’m a combat veteran. It means nothing when the wishes of foreigners come into the situation
