NBA Hall of Famer and TNT commentator Charles Barkley said on Friday that he believes "thug" and "street cred" are racial slurs that are equivalent to the "N-word."

Thug is not a racial slur. It’s a religious slur against the followers of the Goddess Kali. /s
I am a Christian (not a very good one, but a sinner saved by grace)
I know that God created us all in his own image, and I also know if I thought differently I would have no hope of ever seeing the Kingdom of God.
Having said that, I am nevertheless called a racist at times
Sometimes I have some pretty negative things to say about Obama, or the ALL Black Church, notice I just said the “ALL Black Church” NOT the millions of wonderful Blacks that have left that cult
How they raise their children, I sometimes say that`s the product of the Democrat party, I complain about them waving their arms in the air saying they love Jesus,only to leave there and vote for abortion gay marriage and all the non Christian evils you can think of.
Seems to me that the Black Church had a wonderful Christian heritage that they spat on, and now they wonder why so many of their children are in jail , yes behaving like thugs
No this is not only the all black Church, but Democrats in general, and not to give a pass to moderate Republicans either.

No doubt “criminal”, “murderer” and “felon” are also racial slurs since they so disproportionately apply to blacks.
When I went to the south, I noticed that some people referred to windows as “winders”. So I wonder if the N word comes from the same type of poor pronunciation of the word negro.
If so, windows should also feel really offended if they’re referred to as being winders.
The followers of Kaili were the bad guys in the Beatles’ movie HELP! which you will never again see on TV.
I remember the championship series, when Barkley led the Phoenix Suns players . . . to night clubs and parties all over town. Showed up to to the games so hung over they were sweating like pigs every first half.
Meanwhile, Michael Jordon was showing up early to practice his jump shot.
I don’t see any championship rings on his fingers, either.

Don’t even stoop to making excuses for using words they don’t like.
They don’t like certain words, too bad!

Men are the butt of jokes on everything on television; news, commercials, sitcoms, movies, etc.
It's about time that everybody sporting male equipment get a little respect.

Doesn’t say much for a culture if it automatically associates “thug” with its own members. Seems... racist. This Barkley character sure is projecting.
So now we have the “T-word” and the “C-word”... wait we already had that one...
Maybe America’s blacks would be better served by worrying more about the abominable conduct of their peers rather than getting hung up over how other people choose to label it.
