SEVASTOPOL, Ukraine (AP) Ukraines acting government issued an arrest warrant Monday for President Viktor Yanukovych, accusing him of mass crimes against the protesters who stood up for months against his rule. Russia sharply questioned its authority, calling it an armed mutiny.
Yanukovych himself has reportedly fled to the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea, a pro-Russian area in Ukraine.
Calls are mounting in Ukraine to put Yanukovych on trial, after a tumultuous presidency in which he amassed powers, enriched his allies and family and cracked down on protesters.

This one am watching and waiting at a distance. Thanks ColdOne.
It should be very interesting.
Its political revenge on the part of the putchists.
He is under Russian protection. I don’t think Kiev wants to risk conflict with Russia and its writ is powerless in the east.
Do not want us (America or Americans) involved. This is setting up as North verses South. Is not the same as the War Between the States cause if it were Lincoln would have fled South.
Yep
With the history of the area, and the swiftness of revenge, even to a late Mr. Trotsky in a far-away land, I don’t think that this former office holder will survive his arrest.
At one point you just have to let it go. This seems to be a back and forth thing. You lose an election you go to jail. In order to be a Democracy you have to stop this.
Do the Ukrainians have a legitimate case to “Ceausescu” Yanukovych?
“You lose an election you go to jail. In order to be a Democracy you have to stop this.”
In our case I think it’s perfectly legitimate once an elected term has ended and an investigation reveals treason and felonies that the maximum penalties be applied.
Since Yanukovich is the puppet of KGB Putin and his Neo-Soviet regime, it is actually Putin who is guilty of Yanukovich’s mass murders. This is why Putin is so angry. The mass-murderer and tyrant Putin fears that he will end up just like his comrade Yanukovich, running from his own people who demand justice.
The mass-murderer Yanukovich will have to flee to Russia to remain under the protection of his fellow mass-murderer KGB Putin.
‘Ukrainian-like situation impossible in Belarus’
Yeah, that’s what Ceausescu said in 1989.
That's very wishful thinking. To think the next group of corrupt politicians coming in is going to prosecute the previous one. They are going to be out at some point. The third world "democracies" know they are going to jail or worse so they change the rules to stay in power.
There’s a 2010 video of Yanukovich being interviewed and he’s annoyed telling that another revolution like in 2004 is not possible.
