The daili lama claims he is a Marxist not a Lenninist
This AEI and Obama reception puzzles me.
My read is that the daili lama is a pragmatist: WHATEVER is going to keep his almost hopeless, poverty-stricken, pitiful band of people, FOREVER stuck in the 14th century. Well, maybe not THAT modern.
Obama obviously considers China to be more important than the Dalai Lama. Also, Moslems and Buddhists have not gotten along well lately. Remember how the Taliban blew up the world’s largest Buddhas in Afghanistan, and how the militant Buddhist government of Myanmar is driving out that country’s Moslem minority (the Rohingyas).
